Comments about Speedotron M11 Brown Line - 1200 Watt/Second Lamphead with 7" Reflector:
I have four of these heads and they are very nice. I love the bright quartz modeling lights, which can be switched off at the light as well as at the pack, and the fully interchangeable reflectors, which are fully Blackline compatible (which no one ever mentions), giving you even more options.
I love the all-metal, made in America construction. The mount is very strong and reliable, and holds position very well.
My lights are very consistent-I just retested them last week after using them for almost 10 years, and three of them measure exactly the same, while the fourth is all of 0.1 f/stop lower, according to my Gossen digital flash meter.
I do recommend getting the flash tube covers, especially if you are going to be traveling. And I recommend getting identical flash heads, instead of trying to save a few dollars by mixing the other Brown line heads, especially the M90 heads, whose modeling lamps are very different than the M11 units.
