Hitech 85mm Movie Mist Black #3 Effect Resin Filter - for Cokin P

These unique softening filters come in 4 diffusion grades and in 3 colors: Clear Movie Mist 1-4, Black Movie Mist 1-4, and Warm Movie Mist 1-4. All of the movie mist filters can be used for portrait work although normally only the #'s 1 and 2 are used as the #'s 3 and 4 are quite diffuse and are generally used only to create a definite effect rather than a subtle softening, or for landscape and other work.

The Clear Mists tend to pick up highlights, and are very good for photographing a bride in a white wedding gown on a bright, sunny day. The light reflecting off the gown will create a slight haze around the bride without losing her definition.

The Black Mists tend not to amplify these highlights and are ideal for normal portrait photography where the goal is to soften out small facial wrinkles without losing contrast or definition.

The Warm Mists have an 81B filter incorporated into them, giving them more warmth and enhancing flesh tones.

This filter measures 85 x 85mm and fits the Cokin P series holder and the Hitech "P" series holder.
