I'm using this hood on a jVC-GZ-555 HDD camcorder.
I'm not so happy with it because it shows up in the frame
due to it's flexibility. It doesn't hold it's shape perfectly so I
end up with the corners of my frame getting rounded at times.
Of course, zooming in just a touch gets rid of this problem.. but since
I'm reviewing the product I figure I might as well "go negative".
Other than that, I like it just fine.

Comments about B+W 46mm Screw-In Folding Rubber Lens Hood #900:
You can keep this hood on your lens all the time. Push the hood back to the retracted position, and it's easy to snap your original lens cap onto the inner metal ring of the hood.
When retracted, this hood doesn't stick out beyond the front of the lens, but it does increase the lens diameter. It's a lot less extra bulk to carry around than a conventional hood.
I'm using this hood with the Panasonic 25mm f/1.4 micro four thirds lens, and there is no vignetting. I also tried this hood on the Olympus 12mm f/2 lens, but as expected, there is significant vignetting.
I haven't tried stacking a circular polarizer on top of the hood to see if that causes vignetting.

This is a great idea. A lens good you can keep on the camera and it stays out of the way. Sometimes I don't even pack my stock lens hoods, but then I don't have them when I need them. No problem keeping this on on the lens!

I use this on my Panasonic 20mm f1.7, works great. Collapses down to keep a short lens and still allows for use of the lenscap..

Comments about B+W 46mm Screw-In Folding Rubber Lens Hood #900:
I initially purchased a rubber 46mm hood online that tuned out to be quite flimsy. I shot a bunch of flash pictures at a party and most of them had bad light flare. It turns out that the hood was so limp it folded back and let the flash ruin my pictures. This B+W hood is much sturdier. While it folds easily, it snaps into its extended position and stays in place. Like every other B+W product I have purchased, it is excellent.

I was looking for something collapsible to use on my Panasonic LUMIX G 20mm f/1.7 Aspherical Pancake Lens. This works well and even acts somewhat as a "Bumper" for the front of the camera when it's collapsed.

Good quality product. I am using it with a Panasonic 20mm 1.7 pancake lens. I have the lens hood screwed into a B&W 46mm clear protective filter. I can easily collapse the lens hood and still put the lens cap that came with the lens in place. Seems to hold it's shape quite well.

Comments about B+W 46mm Screw-In Folding Rubber Lens Hood #900:
This is a quality product that reduces flare while offering solid lens protection. The only possible drawback to this lens shade results on cameras having a focus assist lamp that is blocked by the hood or where the auto-focus mechanism interferes with the threads of the hood. The rubber of this hood resists oxidative destruction and the hood stores in a very small area.

This is a very well made,in the typical B+W high quality, flexible sunshade and lens protector. This is particularly useful on small lenses and/or pocket cameras as it folds completely.

I bought this lens hood for my Panasonic TM700 camcroder. Unfortunately, it's not wide enough for TM700's 35mm lens. It creates vignetting at the corners. When the camera pans with image stabilizer, even the left/right boundary will be darkened.
Quality wise, it's very good. Looks very durable. So if you are a user of TM700, you can skip it. But if you are searching a len hood for other lens, it's a good canditate. Just try before you buy.

This lens hood will do the job, combined with a standard UV filter, protecting your camera's lens and blocking out direct sunlight (as best as a lens hood of this type and size can).

Very good solid construction. Used with Lumix pancake lens, profile remains slim. Placed next to lens before UV filter.

...then get this hood. Works fine, priced right, no vignetting. I use the Lumix lens on my Olympus E-PL1 with this hood.
I haven't used rubber hoods for years--all of my newer lenses have dedicated bayonnet-type lens shades--and I forgot how well this design protects a camera from bumps!
