The Tamrac N-45 Foam Padded Leather Quick Release Camera Strap (Black) is designed to carry any camera or binoculars with a lug on each side. The thick foam pad absorbs and distributes the weight. A non-slip suede leather pad keeps the equipment from slipping off the shoulder. Comments about Tamrac N-45 Foam Padded Leather Quick Release Camera Strap (Black):
I'm very happy with this camera strap. My old one was the Cannon strap that came with my camera and it chafed my neck. This new strap is soft and comfortable so that I don't mind carrying the camera around all day.
I haven't had any reason yet to use the quick release so I'm not so sure about it's practicality.
I do love that it's all black so doesn't advertise what I'm carrying.

and this fit the bill. It's more functional than fancy but why pay for useless features. i wanted a strap that's comfortable, adjustable and removable. If that's what you want also this will work. it's also well made

Comfy strap, perfect length for carrying your camera the proper way (around the neck with one arm through - can pull the strap tight against your back while pulling the camera to your face, for extra stability), genius design with the quick release system

Comments about Tamrac N-45 Foam Padded Leather Quick Release Camera Strap (Black):
I've tried number of camera neck straps and they all bothered my neck after a short time of carrying Canon EOS with a 18-200 mm lens. So I've switched to a Black Rapid RS-7 shoulder sling camera strap which I like very much. However, RS-7 attaches to a camera via a tripod mount requiring me to unscrew it and replace it with a tripod frequently. So when I plan to use a tripod, I use the N-45 which is very comfortable and convenient with its sturdy quick release. In fact, I found it so comfortable that I don't use my RS-7 that much.

Comments about Tamrac N-45 Foam Padded Leather Quick Release Camera Strap (Black):
This is the third Tamrac quick release strap that I've purchased from B&H. The first I bot was used and still have it after a few years. Use them on my Canon bodies and with the quick release I can easily remove the strap for use with a Black Rapid strap or tripod and then easily snap the strap back on when needed. Comfortable, adjustable and convenient!

Very discret, compact and comfortable enough for my 1D4. The quick release buckles are very handy when need to shoot on a tripod.

Comments about Tamrac N-45 Foam Padded Leather Quick Release Camera Strap (Black):
This is a great strap. As soon as I felt the leather portion of the strap, it was evident that the materials were superior to that of the strap included with my T2i. The thick padded leather (almost suede) is much more comfortable to wear around the neck or shoulder especially with some L glass mounted. The quick release function is great for those times that you do not want the strap in the way of things, i.e. tripod use, or quickly handing it off to someone. This strap is one of the best bargains you will find on B&H's site. A definite thumbs up but I am reserving the 5th star for a version of this that includes some color options other than black; this really is the only shortcoming - it is a little plain to look at but otherwise a great product.

I bought a second one for my binoculars because I love the one I bought for my camera 5 years ago. Very comfortable, subdued color, edges don't scratch my neck and I haven't worn out one in 5 years of heavy use in all weather conditions. Just outstanding! Also love the quick-release option for tripod work.

Comments about Tamrac N-45 Foam Padded Leather Quick Release Camera Strap (Black):
Although I am not a professional, I use my Nikon DSLR for a variety of uses- indoor, outdoor, portrait and sport. The basic Nikon strap is decent but not great as it is not too comfortable after a few minutes with a heavy lens, flash bracket and flash, etc. The N-45 is just the opposite; very comfortable with the camera fully loaded, does not slip off a shirt or coat, and extremely durable. The quick release is perfect for tripod work and the connectors are solid and I have no fears about the camera slipping out.
I give this a 5-star

Comments about Tamrac N-45 Foam Padded Leather Quick Release Camera Strap (Black):
Better than original strap, plus I don't go around advertising what camera I own.
I do wish it didn't even have the Tamrac logo on it or it were smaller or even detachable.
I haven't used the audio on my camera, but I would have to plan to detach the strap since the clips make clicking noises when they brush against the camera.

Comments about Tamrac N-45 Foam Padded Leather Quick Release Camera Strap (Black):
It is well made and the leather shoulder strap is comfortable. It will take some getting use to using the strap when removed. Before I would push the strap out from below the camera when it was on the tripod but now the remaining part of the strap is next to the body...a little more effort to get the remaining part of the strap out of the way...your tendency is just to grab the camera but you still have to push the strap part out of the way....not quit as nice as not having a strap at all. but that's the way it is.

Comments about Tamrac N-45 Foam Padded Leather Quick Release Camera Strap (Black):
The click-locks function well and feel solid, they are not cheaply made and I don't expect them to wear out anytime soon.
The leather keeps the strap from slipping around my neck much better than my basic stock strap did. The extra padding is also a step up from the standard bare-bones strap. Not luxurious, but good.
Doesn't yell NIKON with big yellow letters to people that see me, or when I take a self-portrait; I like that. I know my gear, I don't need anyone else to.
I can remove the strap save for it's leads when using a tripod; this allows me to setup the pod. mount the camera, and THEN remove the strap without bothering the setup. With a conventional strap you have to take it over your head and that could cause hangups in certain circumstances.
LONG HAIR - I have it, and while putting the camera on with the strap unclipped isn't going to help a lot (I leave it clipped when putting it on, it's probably quicker), removing the camera becomes SO MUCH nicer, especially if I'm wearing my camera backpack. Hair gets caught and pulled, the strap is difficult to remove from under my hair...etc...

Comments about Tamrac N-45 Foam Padded Leather Quick Release Camera Strap (Black):
I like the quick release clips. They seem to be sturdy. I think they'll last. The strap is half, or less, of the width of the Canon strap. I'd like it to be wider.
I like to wear the camera like a purse. The extra length of this strap makes that possible. I'm, an XXL, so it would be nice to have another foot of strap length, but I can't complain. The camera fits nicely with this strap.
I like that the strap is not an advertisement of my camra type. I don't like advertising to the crowd that I have something with resale value. If this strap says anything, it says "camera", not "EXPENSIVE CANON".

I was looking a comfortable long strap for my SLR, that will got around my shoulder and still gives me enough length to take photos. The Tamrac N-45 fits exactly what I was looking for. Plus the quick release is very helpful.

Comments about Tamrac N-45 Foam Padded Leather Quick Release Camera Strap (Black):
I use my Canon DSLRs primarily for videos. The normal camera strap is good and plays an important role, it lets me carry the camera on my shoulder.
However, when I mount the camera on a rig or a tripod, the normal strap would flap, twist and tangle with the video head arm.
So having a quick release system on the strap changes everything. As soon as the camera is mounted on the video tripod, the strap is removed, in 2 seconds. No more tangles!
When I am ready to remove my camera and carry it over my shoulder again, all I needed is to double snaps the system back in place and off I go.

I bought this strap to use with the Rolleiflex 3.5f planar I just got and so far it's worked extremely well. I photograph on the street for long hours, and at this time of year in hot weather, so it is important I have a strap that is comfortable even if it gets a little sweaty. This strap has been a perfect choice. The leather is soft and the padding feels really nice on my neck, especially with a rather heavy camera hanging from it. Being a small person (5' 3"), I use the strap on its shortest setting. The only possible problem with this strap is if in the future for some reason or another I should want to make it shorter. That would not be possible.

I wanted a strap I could easily disconnect when mounting my D5000 to a tripod. This strap fits the bill. It's long, so I can sling it under my arm when needed and it's quite soft and comfortable.
