Tamrac 153 World Correspondent's Vest, Large (Khaki)
The Tamrac 153 World Correspondent's Vest, Large (Khaki) is constructed of 100% cotton that is washable with less than 5% shrinkage and has nylon mesh vents for ventilation. It has lots of convenient pockets and is appropriate for almost any photographic assignment. There are ten pockets on the front of the vest that allow for any photographic situation. During hot weather, two zipper vented mesh pockets open to provide cooling ventilation. Four touch fastener closing patch pockets provide fast access and are large enough for nearly any accessory. Two zippered side pockets give the photographer secure space for film and accessories. Two hand warmer pockets can also be used to hold keys, coins, etc. Three more pockets can be found on the inside of the vest. Two large pockets close with a touch fastener, while one closes with a zipper to secure valuables. A large, roomy touch fastener closing pocket can be found on back and discreet vented back panels provide flow through ventilation without looking like a mesh vest. Side tabs are provided so the vest can be adjusted for a custom fit.
The front zips open and closed with a two-way zipper and snap tab, allowing the vest to be adjusted for perfect ventilation and comfort. Four "D" rings provide safe accessory and press pass attachment points. Snap-down epaulets keep camera and bag straps from slipping off the shoulder.
Chest size measured 1.0" below armhole - large = 50" (127cm) .
Waist measure 9.0" (23cm) below armhole - Large = 48.5" (123cm) .
Bottom Sweep-Garment Hem - Large = 47" (119.4cm) .
Body Length-neck seam to bottom of garment - Large = 31" (79cm) .
Cross shoulder - Large = 19.75" (50.2cm) .
Armhole - Large = 28" (71cm) .

Got this for my photo-nut fiance. He prefers Nikon, Graflex, film, and lots of accessories. Vest has pockets for tons of things he likes to carry. Runs a little big, but the room is good when it is loaded up. He's so happy he promised to gear me out with a 2x3 Pacemaker Speed Graphic with a roll back so we can go on an old-time photo adventure.

I bought this in order to have quick access to those small items you need when out shooting--batteries, cards, notebook, pens, etc. There are plenty of pockets for all of the trivia you might want to carry.
The vest is lightweight and comfortable. It does not bind or pull when in action and the tails are long enough so that you are not always trying to pull it down in the back.
I have not used it in warm weather yet so I don't know how efficient the nylon mesh sytem will be. It does have plenty of mesh areas which you can open (some are under the pockets) and should provide plenty of ventilation. The mesh areas are not really visible, however, so it is a stylish looking vest. I give it 4 stars because nothing is ever really perfect.
The khaki color is really more of a gray or grayish brown.

Excellent investment, and very practical. On photographic assignments. Great for shooting sports or outdoor travel. I love the epaulets on the shoulders and the two large front pockets that can easily fit a normal or small telephoto lens.

I always thought photo vests looked pretentious and geeky but recently bought one on a whim. This first one (another brand) quickly tore so I ordered a Tamrac 153 from B&H. I also bought two other brands to write a review for my blog readers.
Of the three, the Tamrac has proven to be the best quality and functionality. Even though it has fewer pockets than the others, I've discovered that well conceived and designed pockets are better than lots of useless pockets.
The medium weight cotton shell is the perfect balance between durability and weight.
I only wish it had a rubberized pads sewn inside the shoulders to prevent slipping.

This vest was purchased for use in geocaching, as well as for photography. It is very comfortable and functional. There are more pockets than I know what to do with! It is lightweight so it works well when putting a lot of different things in the pockets.
