B&W 72mm Linear Polarizer Multi-Resistant Coated (MRC) Glass Filter - Light rays which are reflected become polarized. Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colors providing better contrast. The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and changed by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is rotated and its orientation to the sun.
Multicoated to minimize reflection at the filter surfaces which reduces flare and ghosting.
Note! Linear polarizers are used with most video and manual focus photo cameras. They are not recommended for auto-focus SLR cameras

Comments about B+W 72mm Linear Polarizer Multi-Resistant Coated (MRC) Glass Filter:
I found this product to be very useful when your shooting photographs during the day. It also works for video, but I haven't tested that aspect as of yet. The picture quality comes out pretty darn good and colors that it allows to come out of the lens are also very good versus the original lens colors. I also appreciate the fact that it removes glare just like its supposed to. There are two cons for this tool. First it is hard to unscrew most of the time due to being so thing. You end up grabbing more lens exterior than the filter. Second, it robs you of about 2 f-stops, so in dimmer light you can't use it(such as indoors or when the sun sets), but I believe you will find this will all polarizers. This also requires me to remove it off and on a couple times every day I use the lens.
