The Jobo Mistral II Film Dryer Head
Most of the cost of a film dryer is tied up in the drying head. For this reason, the Jobo Mistral II is designed to accept a roll-film cabinet, or a sheet-film cabinet.
There are 11 pins that hold the cabinets up on the Mistral, and it takes only about 5-6 minutes to switch back and forth between them.
There are two reasons to dry film with forced hot air; the first is to protect it, the longer film is left exposed to air when wet, the more susceptible it is to damage from dust.
The second reason applies to E-6 color positive film (slide film), it actually helps the permanence of the colors.
The Mistral Dryer Head: Comes with two No.3312 Film Clips, and runs at 220V, with 3 heat settings: ambient (room temperature), 93°F (35°C) or, 103°F (45°C).
