I really like this remote however I do not like to two second delay. I really wish this could be changed. It almost acts like the problem is the camera setting vs the remote control setting when dealing with remote not sure. I was going to call Canon support about this. Other than the two second delay this is awsome.

I think it's a little crazy that the description for this on B&H does not warn you that this trigger ONLY WORKS WITH 2 SECOND DELAY. Why would you buy this remote when the RC-1 will do either instantaneous or delayed triggering? The RC-1 is only 5 dollars more...

I collect rocks and minerals and take lots of macro pictures. This remote works perfectly to take out the shake. No wires, no wiggle, perfect shots everytime. Thank you Canon.

Comments about Canon RC-5 Wireless Remote Controller:
Very useful for using in combination with tripod for motion shots. Prevents risk of camera shake and is quicker than using self timer for the same.
There is a 2 sec delay which can be a problem with sporting events or a similar situation.

Comments about Canon RC-5 Wireless Remote Controller:
I'm the one who always takes the pictures, so I never show up in any of them. This makes it easy to get in some pictures. I like the delay before the picture snaps so that I can get the remote out of the way. It's also great for portraits of small kids that need some support for the pictures whether it's to get them to smile or hold them up.

Comments about Canon RC-5 Wireless Remote Controller:
I have a personal blog that I need daily fashion photos of myself. Before the remote I would have to set the focus and and timer - this took way too much time. The remote has helped so much with this and has made this task fun and not something that I dreading doing in the past.
The small size is perfect so it doesn't look so obvious that you are holding it. Very accurate and no delays
I can't think of a single thing that is negative about it

I have used the remote on a couple of my projects. Turned out to be a huge help when working on a self portrait project. Has a slightly limited range but other than that it turned out to be a great buy.

Comments about Canon RC-5 Wireless Remote Controller:
Just tried it and it seems to work like advertised. I can see many uses when I am alone or with group hiking and want in the pic. Just must remember that it won't work if camera powers down - camera will not 'wake up' for it.

Comments about Canon RC-5 Wireless Remote Controller:
Usefull when capturing candid shots of people and photos including me.
Unfortunately you have to be facing the camera, would prefer to be able to trigger the camera from behind especially when taking photos of birds.
Very small so you have to be careful where you keep it.

Comments about Canon RC-5 Wireless Remote Controller:
I bought this to shoot remotely while not necessarily having to be in arms length of the camera. It has a 2 second delay that I didnt know about, which sort of kills the spontaneity of a shot. This product would work great if you were trying to take pictures you are part of and werent worried about timing, but isn't so great if you are trying to capture anything else. Also, it only works from the front of the camera, and if you are using a long lens it will only fire from the side of the lens the camera remote sensor is on.

I use this product when shooting landscape/portrait photography.
Easy to use. no problems with setup
wish the remote and camera could read more from a side angle instead of a front angle.

Comments about Canon RC-5 Wireless Remote Controller:
This Wireless Remote works great with my camera and is very easy and simple to use. It is a great size so I can just slip it in my pocket if I don't want to carry around my camera bag. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's takes a little longer in really low lighting. But other than that it is a great product and would definitely recommend it to other photographers.

Is made of pretty cheap plastic, so I wouldnt take it out in the rain or someting sporty.

I used this remote to take photos of deer and elk with a 200mm lens. It helped take out any movement made by my hands when fully zoomed. No wires makes it that much better.
