I need the step up ring to attach Hoya 82mm filter to my Nikon 17-35mm f2.8D lens.
the ring has a typically good build quality you would expect from B+W. the problem is that, once it is attached with the filter, it does not come off easily. and I gave up on finding whether the blame shall go to B+W or Hoya.

Minus 1 star for the dinky lens cap, otherwise works great. Be careful, when it says slim, it really means slim. It can easily slip out of your fingers when screwing off. Coating is not as nice as the more expensive ones, but works great still.

Comments about B+W Step-Up Ring (Lens to Filter) 77mm - 82mm:
After purchasing my newest Sony PMW EX3 I needed to adapt my Canadian made Red Eye wide angle adapter. A favorite tool of mine but it was 82mm and the new camera was threaded for 77mm.
Once again B&H came to my rescue. A quality product that arrived quickly, then threaded right on to the adapter and camera for a perfect fit!
Well made. Not cheap plastic. Good machine work in the fabrication of the ring...which is important to me. I don't want to pay more than I have to but I never want to buy junk. This step up ring was everything I could have hoped for!
Thanks again B&H. It's this kind of product, among your long list of in stock products, which keep me coming back for more! You really ought to offer a six star rating! LOL

Comments about B+W Step-Up Ring (Lens to Filter) 77mm - 82mm:
I was looking for a cheaper solution than having to buy another ND Filter for my 77mm lenses, especially since I had the slim ND filter for my 82mm Canon 16-35. I only us the ND filter on occasion so this allows me to use one filter on all my lenses. It's a B+W so quality is exactly what I expected.

The step-up rings help me cut cost on buying filters, since I have several cameras with different size lenses.I bought several step-up rings for three different cameras, so I can use all of my filters with these three cameras.

I use this in conjunction with my lee filter holder and an 82mm lens adapter for the filter holder. This way I can use all of my 77mm and 82mm lenses with the lee filter holder and my singh ray 4x6 filters.

I spent an arm and a leg on both a Singh-Ray Circular Polarizing and 8-Stop ND filter for my 82mm wideangle lens. Instead of having to by a separate set for my 77mm 70-200mm lens, this step up ring allows me to use the larger filters across a spectrum of lens sizes.
