Comments about General Brand Vinyl Cable Release with Center Lock - 40":
I had the old one for about ten years. The plastic plunger cap broke off a few years ago, but the release still worked without it and was even slightly lighter. Then when I was walking around up in some rocks recently with my camera and stepped on the plunger end of the release the threads snapped off at the lens so the release would no longer thread into the lens. Fortunately it was built to break the release and not the lense. It lasted many trips on plane, train, boat and automobile, but it didn't take being walked on. Occasionally the Bulb lock locks up on me when I am holding the shutter open for a short timed exposure.
