The B+W 77mm Skylight KR-1.5 (1A) MRC Filter is a general use filter with a slight pink tint to help improve overall color accuracy and clarity. The light pink coloration helps to reduce the overall bluish cast of daylight and is especially effective when photographing landscapes and in shade.
The Sky 1A filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.
The Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) is both an anti-reflection coating as well as a protective surface. It helps to increase light transmission by reducing reflections, scattered light, and ghosting. Additionally, it offers greater protection to the filter substrate and stays cleaner for longer than uncoated filters.
B+W filters are constructed from high quality Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. They feature a brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

Comments about B+W 77mm Skylight KR-1.5 (1A) MRC Filter:
I bought this as protection for my new 100-400 Canon zoom. I put it on the lens and used it in Hawaii to take photos of endemic birds. Bad photographer that I am, I got some great shots anyway. This filter didn't interfere with the zoom lens, but I couldn't say if it actually enhanced the pictures.

Slight pinkish hue to pictures, a "warmer" photo. No distortion.

I have B+W on all the lenses I own. Besides protecting the lens I get great results with color rendition and a slightly warmer tone to all my photographs.

I've standardized on B&W filters. Optically superb, B&W filters are finely crafted in rugged metal mounting rings. Fine quality lenses deserve filters of equal quality.
