A speed ring is required and not included with this unit. Remember to get the best type of speed ring for the light you are using. If you plan on using it with multiple lights we recommend the adjustable speed ring.
The Extra Small Super Pro Plus is designed for use with a strobe, with fabric not intended for the heat of a continuous light. Because of its small size and white interior, light quality will be very soft and even.
The 16 x22" size is ultra portable and lightweight. It may be taken on location easily. The "Plus" designation of this softbox means the front face of the softbox is removable.
Chimera makes different strengths of diffusion material for front face applications. This softbox comes with a one stop diffuser, but a 1/2 or 1/4 grid cloth can be purchased separately. These would allow more light transmission and less softening of the light.
- White interior provides more softening and even distribution of the light than a box with silver interior.
- Ideal for a headshot or a smaller-than-a-breadbox product setup.
- Required Speed (mounting) Rings are available separately for many manufacturers' strobes.

I bought 2 of the Super Pro Plus Chimera soft boxes along with the 40 degree grids (made by lighting tools) to use mainly as edge lighting for head shots. I like the way the grids allow me to place just the right amount of light where it's needed.
Photographer Joel Grimes uses this technique and it's fantastic.
The soft boxes are extremely well made and comes with a carrying bag.
