Remember the Essentials
A speed ring is required and not included with this unit. Remember to get the best type of speed ring for the light you are using. If you plan on using it with multiple lights we recommend the adjustable speed ring.
The Small Super Pro Plus is designed for use with a strobe. With fabric not intended for the heat of a continuous light, the Small Super Pro Plus with white interior is ideal for work where maximum softening of flash is desired. The light quality from this softbox will be softer than that produced by a Super Pro Plus with silver interior.
The "Plus" designation of this softbox means the front face of the softbox is removable. Chimera makes different strengths of diffusion material for front face applications. The softbox comes with a one stop diffuser, but a 1/2 or 1/4 grid cloth can be purchased separately. These would allow more light transmission and help to make the light more specular, or "less soft."
- Ideal for very soft lighting of 3/4-length portraits of 1 or 2 children.
- Recessed front controls light spill and allows attachment of an optional fabric grid.
- Required Speed (mounting) Rings are available separately for many manufacturers' strobes.

I use this for small pet portraits, still life
and on a remote flash for small shy birds.
The size of the box and the quality of light it
produced with my Einstien's was very good. Subjects were rendered very life like.
The fit of the front and internal diffusers were shoddy, the back opening would not close light
tight, lots of leaking there. The box it's self
when open stays wrinkled and saggy. Not what I have come to expect from Chimera.
But all these nits can be worked around to get
the unique Chimera light. However why pay Chimera
prices and have to improvise.
