[$]. The main weakness is the metal bracket is screwed to a block of plastic, and the screws wiggle in that block, so a mounted flash is held relatively securely to the metal plate, but the whole construction wobbles. For my own use, I'm unscrewing the metal plate from the plastic block and bolting it to something else, so that's only a minor drawback. So the bottom line is that yes, I'd recommend this to a friend — but only to specific friends for specific reasons.

Comments about General Brand Flash Accessory Shoe with Tripod Socket:
Universal fit for mounted and slave flashes. It does what it's supposed to.I'm glad they didn't get something this simple wrong.

Comments about General Brand Flash Accessory Shoe with Tripod Socket:
The concept is good: a raised accessory shoe. But the 1/4" threads are made of plastic and after a few uses, they'll be stripped. The metal cold-shoe itself is well built, but it's not securely screwed into the plastic and it wobbles a little. The price is right, the construction poor.

Comments about General Brand Flash Accessory Shoe with Tripod Socket:
This product is pretty cheap. I fear to use it because it doesn't have a spot for my flash to securely lock to it so it's possible that it could fall off. It's a little wobbly too.

Comments about General Brand Flash Accessory Shoe with Tripod Socket:
Flash/stobe does not fit securly in the shoe provided. Would not trust a flash to stay in the shoe when mounted on a light stand.
Save you money and buy a better quality adapter.

fills the bill but is pretty loose - my flash fell off the lightstand more than once with this adapter. hard to tighten the flash down tight enough to be secure

Comments about General Brand Flash Accessory Shoe with Tripod Socket:
This shoes was a piece of junk. The plastic 1/4-20 threads got stripped the second time I screwed it onto my tripod. I have been meaning to send it back but really do not want to waste the time. I want to tell everyone to never purchase the piece of junk ever. I am getting a second Nikon AS-19 Speedlight Stand instead ( now that they are in stock). These work great for just a little more money.

Comments about General Brand Flash Accessory Shoe with Tripod Socket:
I use the shoe to mount 2 Vivitar 283's or 285's on a single bar. The plastic piece is fine and strong enough. The metal shoe is not heavy enough.
