These are great lights but I only give it 4 stars because they don't last as long as the manufacturer suggests.

Comments about Photoflex Lamp - 500 Watts/120 Volts for Starlite QL - Mogul Base:
Coming from Europe, I replaced my 220V Starbright (Photoflex) lamp with a 120V lamp from B&H. Unfortunately, we all forgot the Ohm law!The fuse blew…[...].Apart from that incident, I recommend this combination for a light weight portable lighting system: photoflex starbright.

Comments about Photoflex Lamp - 500 Watts/120 Volts for Starlite QL - Mogul Base:
When I purchased my Photoflex 3200QL I elected to purchased the Photoflex 5oo watt Lamp with it. I am only rating the bulb at 4 stars because I have only had a little time using it. However so far it is bright, does not get boiling hot, and I do have it mounted in a 42" softbox. Overall lighting for portraits is great, and has a very full effect instead of the sometimes harsh look of a strobe. I will also add that the bulb is very well packed and seems like it could never break when being shipped or carried in a lighting case. (Just hang on to the protective tube it is shipped in).
