The B+W 46mm UV Haze MRC 010M Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.
The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.
The Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) is both an anti-reflection coating as well as a protective surface. It helps to increase light transmission by reducing reflections, scattered light, and ghosting. Additionally, it offers greater protection to the filter substrate and stays cleaner for longer than uncoated filters.
B+W filters are constructed from high quality Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. They feature a brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

Feels very solid and dense for its size. Also adds a bit of balance to the lens. Well worth the price and it helps bring out a bit more blue in the sky.

I have for years purchased B&W. Worth the money.
I would rather be happy and skimp elsewhere.

Only the best for the best micro 4/3 lens. Screws on easily and stays on firm. No noticeable IQ degradation.

Comments about B+W 46mm UV Haze MRC 010M Filter:
I have several UV, polarizing and ND filters made by Tiffen, Hoya and Cokin but this is my first B+W filter. There is an obvious quality difference just in holding this filter. Though it's only a 46mm it feels more substantial than my 52 and 55mm filters. I always keep it on my Panasonic 20mm f1.7 lens for protection and I've noticed no adverse effects on my photos. It did seem to reduce haze on a few landscape photos I used as a test but it's mainly for lens protection. The glass on this filter does not seem to attract dust as much as the others I've used either. Though it is pricey, I may be buying more B+W filters now.

Comments about B+W 46mm UV Haze MRC 010M Filter:
The absolute best protection, UV out there! Cuts out reflections when cheaper filters tend to add them. Brass casing can be removed from lens much easier than aluminum which usually are tough to get off. Easy to clean too. Highly recommended.

I buy this filter for protecting my Panasonic 20mm f1.7 lens.
It works well. It doesn't affect the quality of photo or create the dark corner around the photo. And it's easy to clean!

I like these filters because the coating makes them easy to clean and the brass screw threads don't bind the way aluminum sometimes does.

This is a high quality filter at an unbelievable price. A high quality filter is an important tool to protect your lens and not degrading picture quality. I had always been recommended b&w filters for my leica and this is the second one I have owned. Very nice product.

Protect your lens but don't compromise your image, B+W is more expensive than the others but worth it, UV haze is a basic filter to start with.

Comments about B+W 46mm UV Haze MRC 010M Filter:
Why spend a ton of money on a high-quality lens then skimp on a filter to protect it?
I used to work at an Optics company where we only used the highest quality glass from Schott in Germany, the same substrate that B+W uses for these lenses.
It costs a little more, but is definitely worth it. This filter is solidly constructed, has good heft (thanks to the all-brass ring, which doesn't expand, stick or contract depending on the weather) & is completely clear and distortion free. Thought about purchasing Hoya, but after finding out it can become difficult to clean due to lower quality glass and/or coating, I decided it wasn't worth it since I didn't want to lower the overall optical quality with a second rate filter for the lens this was being used to protect.
This was the perfect UV filter to help protect the odd sized Leica f2.0 lens on my LX3. I never take it off.
