The B+W 52mm UV Haze MRC 010M Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.
The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.
The Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) is both an anti-reflection coating as well as a protective surface. It helps to increase light transmission by reducing reflections, scattered light, and ghosting. Additionally, it offers greater protection to the filter substrate and stays cleaner for longer than uncoated filters.
B+W filters are constructed from high quality Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. They feature a brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

Comments about B+W 52mm UV Haze MRC 010M Filter:
I picked up this filter to use on my Nikon lenses mainly as protection but also to prevent refraction. Every review I read mentioned that B + W filters were by far the best manufactured, most distortion free filters on the market. I was blown away by how incredible the glass is on this filter; you can't even notice any subject distortion through it. The threads on this filter are noticeably higher quality than on my Rocketfish polarized filter; the filter goes on the lens easier and seems to hold more securely. The price is on the high side compared to most other filters, but the quality is also well beyond other filters.

This is the first filter I've purchased, but it seems like a quality filter. Nice and durable. The quality of images with the filter on are equal to the images without the filter.

I bought this filter for my Sony HDR-PJ760v and it is a strong, firm filter that protects my camcorder from fingerprints, dust, water and any other harmful objects. It is also very clear glass and protects from glaring in the videos. I would recommend B + W filters for all sort of lens.

Comments about B+W 52mm UV Haze MRC 010M Filter:
I had previously only purchased inexpensive filters, such as Vivitar's Series 1 UV filter, and was impressed by the clarity of B+W's filter. The build quality of the B+W filter is also superior and its surface less reflective. I am very satisfied.

This filter is mechanically superior to anything I have seen, and is made in Germany from the best glass available. You are getting both superior physical protection, the best image quality and reduction of UV Rays giving you enhanced outdoor colors instead of washied out images. What more could you ask for?

Comments about B+W 52mm UV Haze MRC 010M Filter:
Frankly I don't think the UV filters actually do anything. I've shot the same scenes with and without these filters and get the same results. However, this filter cost[$] and it's on the front of a $1400 lens. If you bump the filter and it gets broken or chipped, you're out [$]. If you bump the unprotected lens glass and it's broken or chipped, you're out as much as $1400. Enough said!
