I love this tripod head. For how cheap it is, it's very smooth. I am so glad they have a replacement plate for it. Prices are about the same everywhere, but bhphoto you can trust to get you a good product and fast.

I own a sturdy SLIK 500DX tripod since last couple of years. Only recently i lost the quick release on my Smoky Mountain national Park tour. Without a quick release the tripod is useless and I was not very sure if i can get a replacement or not..the best thing i did is talked to a B&H customer service representative, asked if they have it. The guy found me one and i ordered it right away. The quick release that came was equally solid, sturdy and nice looking, fits perfectly with my 500DX. I am all happy.

It's always nice to have extra Quick Release Plates for my tripod. I have accidentally left the quick release plate on a different camera and when I was out shooting couldn't use the tripod. Now I keep an extra one in my camera bag and if I'm using two cameras I can keep one attached to each camera and quickly switch cameras on the tripod.

I replaced my my plate for a cost of $25. You could but a complete tripod and head for $20 on the net
the plate is standard, but t he head on my slik tripod is worth less than $2. So don't bother unless you have a $75 head on your tripod. Take this for what its worth

Purchased as an extra plate for the 500DX. Fits perfectly and works flawlessly once the paint at the contacting point with the lever is completely worked off. The softwood is a nice touch which ensures a secure attachment while not exerting too much force on your equipment. No complaints.

I use this product with my Slik able 300dx tripod.
It is a good replacement quick plate or even possibly a back-up for all those times you "misplace" your main one. I use it for portraits, landscapes, architecture. If you have a tripod that requires this quick plate it is solid and sturdy. The fit is good even though at first it might seem that the locking mechanism doesn't lock onto the plate all the way, but its not coming off. Great product for the price.

I had to replace my plate that came with the tripod, it somehow dissapaired and have never had any issues other than misplacing it. Always works just fine.

Solid medal with powedercoated black finish. Cork backing is sturdy but slim. Easy release screw with a large grip attaches your camera relatively painlessly. Certainly a worthwhile investment to purchase an extra plate for when you misplace the one that came with your Slik tripod.

I was looking for a second quick release plate everywhere. It's nice to have multiple quikc release plate when you are trying to use more than one camera without having to move the plate each time. Defeats the quick part.

I have two setups, a SLR and a video camera. So I got an extra quick release plate when I got my tripod so I could leave one plate with each setup. I can be so frustrating to not have the plate when you need it.
