I bought and used this paper for my photo final for my advanced photo class, it was the first time I ever used fiber paper and I absolutely loved the results. The high contrast was exactly what i was looking for and the professional quality it possesed gave my final the edge above my classmate's work i was looking for. The only thing I did not approve of fully was the use of so much material to ship it. I thought some of the packing was a little unncessary and wasteful, specifically the large amount of plastic bubble wrap used as well as the overly large box.

Bad for Prints
Fiber paper curled after making prints. Tried to smooth it out and make it flat it just cracked ruining several and the majority of my prints.
Not recommended.

I am a Photo Major at the University of Memphis. I use this paper every semester and it's never let me down. You do have to allow for it to dry slightly darker than you print and it rolls up as it dries but that is true of all Fiber-Based paper, you just have to flatten it out after you dry. Just thought anyone reading this review should know that, if they didn't already.

Great paper, basically my standard paper for anything really. If printed correctly, matte paper has a pencil sketch quality in the image.

Comments about Ilford Multigrade IV Fiber Based, Variable Contrast Black and White Paper (8 x 10", Matte, 25 Sheets):
Use for printing in the darkroom. The fiber paper takes a couple minutes more in the developing process but it is so worth it. The dried fiber print has richer warm values that are not in the ilford pearl or glossy paper. Any print you make on pearl will look better on this fiber paper. Make sure to flatten this print once it dries, otherwise you will have a crumpled print.

I'm a huge fan of matte FB paper. It's a pain to develop compared to RC paper, but makes incredible images.

Comments about Ilford Multigrade IV Fiber Based, Variable Contrast Black and White Paper (8 x 10", Matte, 25 Sheets):
This is the first time I have used Fiber Based paper so I don't have much to compare it to. I love the tonal quality it gives. Easy to get all the zones in each print. THe only problem I have with it is that in the darkroom, it is somewhat difficult to tell which side is the emulsion side. I have learned that the paper naturally bends towards the emulsion side. Other than that, great paper.
