First time I used this, I loaded the film (2 rolls/reels of 35mm) the day before processing. With a 5-year hiatus from darkroom work, I jumped into the game like it was yesterday. I was worried about chemicals leaking during inversions but only the final rinse/stabilizer leaks during C-41 process. I think that is do to the sudsy/foaming nature of this chemical. Easy to pour into and easy to pour out of without mess. I would definitely recommend to others. The reel stand is a little awkward to deal with in the dark while making sure it is in properly. This is very minor though.

I bought this for a photo class because the brand my professor suggested was not in stock. While it gets the job done, this is not my favorite design of tank. Loading the reels can be a pain because of the little tabs, but with practice comes experience.

Comments about Omega Universal Developing Tank with 2 Adjustable Reels:

I use this tank to develop my own 35mm and 120 at home. I used this tank to develop my first roll which was a 120 ilford hp5+ and the results were at least as good as the lab I've used.

It's very nice that the tank comes with 2 spools. Keep in mind that you can only fit two rolls at a time of both are 35mm. The reels are adjustable and can accept 120, 127, and 35mm (including 126). The reels are designed for these three sizes only and cannot be adjusted to any other sizes such as 116 or 110. This would have been a nice feature and is the only con I can find.

Comments about Omega Universal Developing Tank with 2 Adjustable Reels:

The best part of this tank are the two reels: top notch, easy to load, durable. AFter years of cheap thin plastic film holders, these are a joy to use: even in a black bag where you must fumble around you can easily load your film. And the red lid holds tight for inversion agitiation. Glad I got it. And in regards to ordering from B&H - their customer support is spot on and they didn't put the charge through until a few days after I had recieved the product. Will do busines with them again - no problem

Comments about Omega Universal Developing Tank with 2 Adjustable Reels:

I would suggest this tank for anyone who's just starting photography or has done it for a while! The manual, metal reels are a pain! This is a great deal for two easy-to-load plastic reels.
The tank itself is great as well, it protects the film. It's great for anyone (such as myself) who gets nervous about their film! I used older tanks in high school and had to work in a dark room in order to just pour the chemicals in. Now I am in college and I can trust my film to be protected.
It's light weight and easy to wash! It's also easy to transport film inside of the tank!
This website also gives the best price, in my opinion.

Comments about Omega Universal Developing Tank with 2 Adjustable Reels:

I'm used to using a different brand of tank, one whose name eludes me at the moment, that has a tighter, easier to close seal than this tank. I find that while I'm agitating, chemicals leak out of the red cap and possibly the screw on part if not closed properly, which is sometimes a challenge to do. The reels are hard to open at times and aren't great quality. Overall it's ok, it'll get the job done as long as your reels are dry when loading film and you screw the black lid on tightly, but you will probably get chemicals on your hands from the leakage from the red cap.

I use this product to develope my black and white negatives for 35mm and medium format. I find that this is definitely a good buy. The tank is light which helps when developing for long periods of time and the top slides smoothly without leaking. It is also very easy to clean and dry when done. The one problem i find is that when the adjustable reels are a bit used, while loading your film it tends to stick and not load the film properly and/or it will stick half way through even if the film is cut perfectly straight across and placed in perfectly.

I would get the other tank with the wider lid also available from B&H. The lid on this one leaks when you flip the tank over. Reels are hard to load too. It does the job tho.

The tank and reels work fine for 35 mm film, but I ruined three rolls of 120. The film won't catch on the ball bearings and just pops out. Use standard metal reels and tanks for your larger films.

This item was very difficult to use, alas, ultimately being faulty upon its first use. The reels do not have a 'slip' for your film to glide onto, thus making loading film in the dark a rather arduous task. I would do more research and spend the extra few dollars to get an item a bit more user-friendly.

I used this product for the first time the other day in photo and I wasn't expecting it to be so great. The no-leak seal is amazing! I would recommend this tank to everyone.

I had to get this for my Black and White Photo I class so that I could develop my film. Compared to local store prices it was WAY cheaper even after you consider [...] the student discount the local store would have given me. I am very pleased with the quality and efficiency of receiving this item!

easy to use but ALOT of leaking during the inversion cycles. Easy to clean. This is my first time developing anything btw.

This is the tank I use for b&w film class in college. The tank was a available at our local photography supply store, but even with the discount given to students, B&H was still cheaper[...] Now I have the exact same reels and tank required, just cheaper! And I've already used it and gotten great results.

It does what it's supposed to, albeit not as good as other tanks/reels. Problems:
                                                          1. It leaks. During agitation be prepared to get chemicals on your hands. Wear a smock.
                                                          2. The lid can be hard to screw on. It sometimes takes 5 minutes just to get the lid to enter the thread the right way.
                                                          3. The manual looks like its been translated to English by a free online tool. It reads horribly and I'm surprised the company could spend $100 bucks and have someone literate translate the manual. Not a biggie...just a reflection of the "cheapness" of the product.

In comparison to the stainless steel and Hewes reels, this tank is just as good. All the other students in my classes will often screw up with the Hewes reels but these reels do a great job of loading the film and keeping it separated. I've been used it for about 20 rolls of film now and all have come out great. If your looking to save some money this is a great deal. The expandability to hold 120 film is great also. Only con is that the top can leak a little when agitating but is nothing I don't see with all the other tanks.
