The film clips to the center and is gently rolled on to the reel.

i bought two, and both of them is crooked.

I carefully bought three steps up from the cheapest 120 reel, having had a bad experience with the cheapest 35mm reels [...]. But this one is no better that bottom of the line. Top and bottom reel are visibly not aligned, 2mm greater separation on one side. Several of the welds fill in between the spiral wires, so that film is going to slip off where the welds fill. Spiral wire is not as heavy as other, used, but higher quality reel. This one is going back.
