Comments about Tundra Security Focus Scope:

This scope lets you set the enlarger focus by looking at the grain of the negative. It is very handy, lightweight and acurate. It is cheap and does the job well.

Comments about Tundra Security Focus Scope:

I bought this to use in my basic photography class. My instructor wanted us to have a focus/grain scope. For my first class I didn't have my order in yet, so I used a scope that was provided by the instructor. The scope he had was great, so I was excited about getting this one. When I first used the focus scope by Tundra Security I was highly dissapointed! It didn't work. I wasn't seeing my image through the scope, all I was seeing was reflecting light that about blinded me! It doesn't work at all. It is absolutely useless!

Comments about Tundra Security Focus Scope:

As with most darkroom supplies you get what you pay for, It is plastic and the construction quality is quite low. Not to sat that this little magnifier doesn't do what it needs to.
It is not necessary to always use a grain focuser but on larger prints it really comes in handy. A handy trick to get the most out of this is to use it first on f16 then set it at f4 just readjust and stop back down to f16 or 11 just to be sure that it is in sharp focus. The grain magnification is not great but when I use that little trick it almost always results in a sharp images, although I almost always use the smaller aperture which makes focusing easier.
