Comments about Canon EC-D Focusing Screen:
I have these focusing screens for the 1D MK2, 5d MK2 and IDs MK3. They are bright and work well. I'm glad I purchased them ans it saves time and makes orienting the composition that much easier.

Comments about Canon EC-D Focusing Screen:
I shoot mostly architectural photography and wanted an easier way to level the camera on a tripod (aside from a spirit level in a hot shoe). This works great and it was simple to install using the instructions and special tool provided. I also found a short video on youtube that demonstrated the procedure.
The grid is easy to see but not obtrusive and all focus points on the 1D Mark-IV work just like the original precision focus screen. Make sure to set this screen value in the custom functions.
Now I can get a frame set up with the TS-E 17 f/4L much easier and can still use Live View to hit the focus mark.

Comments about Canon EC-D Focusing Screen:
I own several of these different focusing grids for my Canon 1 series bodies and they work great. I use them to estimate the cropping for a standard 8x10 so that I remember to leave enough room when shooting tight portraits. Having these grid lines really helps you remember this and keeps you from leaving too much room as often happens when you don't have one of these.

Comments about Canon EC-D Focusing Screen:
I shoot interiors with a 14mm lens. If it's not dead level in the horizontal plane the verticals of the space converge and the shot is ruined. There's two way's around this- first is to have a bubble level in the hotshoe, other is to get this focusing screen. I can't always use the bubble level because I usually have a pocket wizard in the hotshoe. If you often use the grids in PS to check for perfect alignment, start the process in camera with this screen.

Had one on my 50D, and loved it. When I saw they were still available for the 1D series bodies I snapped one up immediately. Works great for landscape and architectural photography. Canon OEM quality[...]What more do you need?!

Comments about Canon EC-D Focusing Screen:
I decided to change to this focusing screen to solve a problem I had getting true verticals in camera due to distortion through the viewfinder because of the shape of the lenses in my glasses.
The added benefit of the grid is it serves well as a composition guide.

Comments about Canon EC-D Focusing Screen:
I use a 20mm lens on my full frame Canon 1ds. Mostly architectural interiors. This is a must have and it was very, very easy to replace. I would have bought it earlier if I had known how easy it was to do.

Comments about Canon EC-D Focusing Screen:
I replaced the stock focusing screen with the EC-D series on both my 5D and 1Ds Mklll. I shoot a lot of landscape and some architectural and the grid lines are indespensible for leveling horizon lines or aligning the composition to other strong vertical or horizontal elements. Has saved time and images by not having to straighten in post processing or lose image edges from the the resulting crop.
Extrememly easy to install... follow the directions and use the tool provided. Don't forget to set the camera to the new screen in the menu to maintain proper exposures.

Comments about Canon EC-D Focusing Screen:
The EC-D focusing screen is so nice when shooting product. Before we would have to use the grids in the capture software to make sure everything was exactly straight. The new screen saves a step.
