Comments about General Brand 49mm TO 52mm Macro Coupler (Male to Male):
I use this macro coupler for my Noflexar 35mm f/3.5 close-up lens such that my 52mm thread accessories can be attached reversely at the front.
What 52mm thread accessaries? E.g. my Nikkor 50mm f/1.8, my Blaadar U-filter w/ 48mm-52mm step up rings, my standard 52mm lens cap,... etc.
The build of this macro coupler is very good. It's screwed in tight. The non-slip surface makes it so easy to attach and detach. And it's build is solid.
One warning thou: the edges of this coupler are really sharp. While attaching or detaching, beware not to touch the front lens element of your lens. (Well, actually this warning applies to everything attaching to the front of lens. Including lens cap.)
IMO, this coupler is doing it's job. I only rated it 4 stars because it only does it's job well. It didn't surprise me with something unexpected.

How about reusing an old normal focal lens with your new DSLR ? Pair it with another (kit) lens with this coupler, stick on a small tripod and enjoy simple macro for beginners...
Works like expected. Neat trick with surprising results. Just pay attention to DOF and lighting.

Comments about General Brand 49mm TO 52mm Macro Coupler (Male to Male):
I use this to reverse-connect a 28mm Minolta manual focus lens to my canon 35-80mm kit lens -very simple to use, just screw both lenses into the corresponding male threading on the adapter like you would any filter. It's no replacement for a real macro setup, but for under [$]it allows me to use two older lenses in a different and somewhat entertaining way. You must be very very close to the subject to achieve any kind of focus, but the images are worth the effort. This adapter is quite useful for those times when you come across something truly tiny and want a closer look.
