A standard zoom lens from a wide 28mm to a medium telephoto range of 80mm. The use of aspherical elements in the front group reduces the number of elements required, and the use of strong engineering plastic in the barrel makes the body light.

This is a good lens for the money. Relatively fast autofocus. Works well for landscape/scenery. Still you will need to do some sharpening in Photoshop.

Comments about Tamron Zoom W/A-Telephoto AF 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 Aspherical AF Lens:
I bought this lens to be my everyday shooter with a new Pentax K-r. It is fast focusing, and delivers very crisp shots. I really don't think there is anything else on the market that delivers this level of quality for [$].

Comments about Tamron Zoom W/A-Telephoto AF 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 Aspherical AF Lens:
Slight upgrade from my Pentax lens-found it to be excellent for waterfall and other landscape photography. Lightweight yet rugged for the price. I am starting to feel partial to Tamron lenses because they do what I want and I have found their ability to manually focus and not creep what I am looking for in longer exposures sometimes necessary for waterfalls
Comments about Tamron Zoom W/A-Telephoto AF 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 Aspherical AF Lens:
With my Pentax K200D, the lens provided good focus, great for wide shots, and landscape photography.
