This is a real lens cap

My brand new Canon PowerShot S5 IS is a great camera. The only thing that I can complain about is the lens cap is a toy which is always loose and falls off.
This great cap in combination with the LAH-DC20 Lens adapter and a Hoya UV filter makes the camera perfect. The cap easly attaches to the UV filter or any other filter I use and STAYS attached. It does what a lens cap is supposed to do and is the right price for the protection that it provides. It stays put.

I lost one of my lens caps for my Rebel xsi. This is just like the one I lost. I wanted the Canon brand. I do think it is overpriced.

I bought 2 Lens Caps and a String to attach it to the Camera. Why
don't you just include the string when the camera is sold.
Obviously I use the cap and String now as the cap is easy to lose. I like the Camera. I have to learn to take movies as the book with the directions is not clear, but it is good in all other features

Lens caps are designed to protect the front element from dust and scratches, and it works as designed.
I bought this as a replacement for a lost cap. The only reason I chose to buy the OEM brand was I may sell the lens someday, and want all the parts original. Otherwise, I'd recommend an after-market center-pinch replacement cap.
I wish Canon would adopt the more practical "center pinch" design, but I suppose they feel the cleaner look is more important for brand recognition.
If you don't believe in "promoting" your camera's brand, and want a more practical lens cap, get the off-brand center-pinch version.
If you don't mind spending a little more, and want to show everyone you are loyal to your brand of choice, get this cap.
Or, if you are like me and plan to sell a lens with all it's "original OEM" parts, you HAVE to have this cap!
