This honeycomb grid provides a beam spread of 50° when mounted to an SP Systems Excalibur reflector.
Grids are essential accessories for any lighting system. These devices alter the shape and intensity of the light output from your flash heads. Consider them as a painter would a brush, or a sculptor would a knife, or chisel.
Use of a grid will result in a small circle of light, when it is attached to the front of your light source. The size of the circle of light will be determined by the density of the honeycomb, its thickness, and the distance of the subject.

Well made. Easy to use. Reasonably priced. Great for putting light where you want it and reducing spill onto the background.

Comments about SP Studio Systems Honeycomb Grid for Excalibur Monolight Reflector:
I have only used twice, but those tests yielded fantastic results. I will say that the fasteners seem a little fragile, even though I have had no trouble with it. For the price I am definately glad I went ahead added it to my order.

Comments about SP Studio Systems Honeycomb Grid for Excalibur Monolight Reflector:
I've used this grid a number of times so far in the studio, and the price is great for something you won't use all the time.
This item is well constructed, but I wish it had three contact points instead of only two. It stays connected well, don't get me wrong, but putting it on is not a one-handed operation. It would be, if there were three contact points.
Now, if they only made different sizes and thicknesses of these honeycomb grids...

The Excalibur Honeycomb Grid easily attached to the light and it's easy to store. It casts a nice light on the subject.
