Although Canon does not recommend use of UV Haze-1 Filter on Powershot SX10 IS Camera, as recommended in some reviews I bought the 52mm UV Haze-1 Filter. It really fits perfectly on the lens hood mount. Frankly I have not seen much image improvement all though there is some. UV Haze-1 Filter's effectiveness may be predominant for a long distance sky shots taken in a bright sunny environment from a higher altitude.
Nevertheless it gives additional protection to the expensive lens from dust and any other external contact, which is more than any thing else, for which I would strongly recommend it to all.

Comments about Canon 52mm Ultraviolet (UV) Glass Filter:
This lens filter does everything that I could want in an accessory of this type for the best price possible. The contrast in my film images has been much better with the reduction of UV light and the filter serves as a lens cap so that in those moments where you need to be quick, the shot never comes out as the back of your lens cap. If you're looking for a clear filter that isn't extremely expensive, this is the one to buy.

Was looking for a low-cost filter, and this is it. Good quality metal construction, tight threading and fits very well with the knock-around Canon 50mm f/1.8.

After an accident that jammed my lens (repairable) but thankfully did not break the glass, I finally got around to buying these for all my lenses. I don't know why I waited so long - they are inexpensive, well made, and actually increase the quality of your photos.

Comments about Canon 52mm Ultraviolet (UV) Glass Filter:
I have used canon uv filters in the past. I always keep a uv filter on my lens to protect it from dust and scratches. The Canons are good quality and relativity inexpensive. Overall I am happy with the quality and they seem slightly better then a few Hoyas I have. [...] always need a good cleaning first (minus 1 star for that).

Comments about Canon 52mm Ultraviolet (UV) Glass Filter:
I bought this partly to increase my aperture on bright days instead of buying a neutral density filter. In part I bought it to get less glare from windows.
My first attempt with it was a disaster. I didn't know I had to line up the white dots!
