I got tired of having my 5D MKII hanging around my neck and the neck strap always got in the way when I was shooting from a tripod. I've steadfastly rejected the use of a battery pack since I had one for my D30. Being old school the vertical release button was of limited value and the weight a battery grip adds and the special "bagging" requirements it demands made it a non-starter for me.
This strap fits the camera well, is sturdy and secure on the camera and on my wrist. By carefully adjusting the small fiber strap that connects to the camera, I have even provided myself a finger whole through which I insert my middle finger giving me a secure grip on the camera with the strap around my wrist, on guard to protect my camera if my grip should slip.
Everything else I tried was made for a small, light-weight point and shoot camera and left me feeling insecure both in my grip and in my equipment's safety.

This is just the thing for a strap on for the Canon G11 or G12. The supplied over the neck camera strap from Canon works, but is too long and always seems to be getting in the way. This wrist strap is perfect. You can hold the camera while taking a picture and feel safe it's on your wrist and won't fall. The best thing is it's unobtrusive. There are other import straps cheaper but the part that actually attaches to the camera is corded material. This is real web strapping and it works the best.

I bought this for my Canon Powershot G12 to use instead of the include neck strap. I'm glad I did.
The strap is nothing at all like the wrist straps that come with smaller point and shoot cameras. Its similar to the build quality of the neck straps that come with Canon SLR cameras. This thing is high quality and heavy duty. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a replacement strap for a bigger point and shoot such as the Canon Powershot series. I've seen other reviewers even use it for camcorders and after using it I can see why.

I wasn't happy with the neck strap that came with my new p&s.
Although this product was originally made for a Canon handycam (I believe), I found a few sites that said it could double as a wrist strap for a Canon G12. With a little work, the strap was in place and I couldn't be happier!
The sturdy design of the WS-20 works perfectly with this brick of a camera. I look forward to many years of use.
