I got this bracket to help me get my flash off camera and attached to a miniball for some macro photography work and for some event photography. This is a very inexpensive yet very sturdy little bracket. It does not fold but is lightweight enough and compact enough to easily toss into a gadget bag or the outside pocket of a backpack. It holds my 40D with ease and has a comfortable rubberized grip. One of the shoe mounts was a tad loose upon arrival, but this was easily fixed with an eyeglass screwdriver to tighten the small screws in. The bottom of the arm easily attaches to the camera and holds it quite steady. You can also tripod mount this bracket to a standard tripod thread mount size 1/4" making the attachment of a QR plate a cinch. Overall, this is a very effective little bracket and I look forward to using it even more in the future.

[...] I am using it to mount an older Vivitar 283 to my D80. I am using the 283 with a Wein Safe-Sync to isolate the high trigger voltage. I was concerned about the height and weight of the combination of the two on my D80's flash mount. So now I have the Safe-Sync on the camera linked to the 283 on the flash mount. One unexpected advantage of the two shoes on this flash mount is that when I remove the bracket from the camera, I store the Safe-Sync on the second shoe. I never have to look for it.I am a little concerned about the construction, right away I had to tighten the very small Phillips screws that fasten the chrome flash slot to the black bracket bar. And maybe its just my flash unit, but seems that the chrome bracket could fit my flash foot a little more snugly. If I was bumping shoulders and elbows with hordes of press photographers I would definitely want a more rugged unit, but for now, it suits my needs.

Comments about General Brand Right Angle Bracket with 2 Flash Shoes:
This product arrived and was exactly as I expected. One thing to note is that the verticle arm isn't exactly 90 degrees; it's more like 75 or 80. This isn't a problem, and actually provides for a better "off-axis" point for your flash to sit which further reduces the weird shadows when the flash is directly over the lens.
In addition to using this with a Canon 430EXII flash, I also use a small LED continuous light for video. I put my external DSLR mic on the camera's hot shoe and the LED light on the bracket's top-most cold shoe. My handheld shots are much more stable when I use this bracket.
Great buy for a great price.

Comments about General Brand Right Angle Bracket with 2 Flash Shoes:
When I ordered this bracket, I expected to receive a fairly flimsy piece of metal and plastic given the low price.
The build quality is outstanding. I purchased it for use in DSLR video. It works great fro mounting accessories, or as a handle for stabilizing video.
If you don't have one get one as soon as you can. I regretted not having done so sooner with this item being as cheap as it is.

Comments about General Brand Right Angle Bracket with 2 Flash Shoes:
I thought this bracket would be flimsy, but it is quite solid. It has two cold shoes and the mount on the bottom moves in a slot so you can position the camera wherever you want. I use this for my camcorder and microphone.

Well, honestly, I suppose if it had an option for a 1/4-20 connection for a moveable head it would be better. I'm goign to use it just to hold my camera steady really.

For the price, this is the best flash bracket I have ever owned. It is solid and positions the flash at the perfect angle. I use a vivitar 283 flash on it and the bracket holds it firmly, no wobble. I highly recommend it.

I use this product with the Audio-Technica PRO24CM External Mic and an LED light for my Kodak Zi8. The brackets are VERY sturdy, which I was surprised to find after reading all the reviews about it. It did have a sort of chemical smell, but that didn't bother me - I've smelled worse. It will go away with more handling.
The only con I see is that the bottom mount for the tripod adapter is not quite centered. But that can be compensated for.
All in all a good product.

Purchased this to get a flash near the end of Canon's 65mm MP-E. Works well out to 3X, the limit of my shooting skills.

As others have said, the grip smells strong of chemicals at first. It isn't exactly 90 degrees either, it is a bit more obtuse. The shoes seem sturdy and the screw in the bottom works well too. Overall a pretty nice product.

Comments about General Brand Right Angle Bracket with 2 Flash Shoes:
I use it to hold a camera remote control that needs a flash shoe so that the shoe on camera can be for a flash. Actually, this bracket can be used for any accessories that need a shoe. The L-bracket is made of steel that is thick and strong enough. However, when it mounted on a tripod head/plate, it is not sturdy enough. The shape, size and bottom texture for contact with plate surface needs to be improved.

THe only reason I gave a 4 instead of 5 is because the black plastic handle really smelled strong. I has gone away since.
For the price, you can't beat this bracket.
