This is a Photoflex SilverDome NXT, Small Softbox , 16 x 22 x 13" (41 x 56 x 33cm). Photoflex makes a wide variety of softboxes for use on your strobes or hotlights. LiteDomes and MultiDomes are for use with strobes only. SilverDomes and HalfDomes may also be used with hotlights. All Photoflex softboxes require a Speed Ring Adapter, which must be purchased separately.
Choose a softbox according to the size of your subject. For example, a small or extra small is appropriate for a head-and-shoulders portrait, or a very small still-life such as a paperweight. A medium softbox is good for a half-length portrait of an adult. A large is suitable for a group portrait of 3 - 4 people.
Choose a softbox interior color for the lighting effect you want. White is the most universal, giving the most softening effect. Silver gives a little more punch and crispness. Gold (with the MultiDome only) adds that punch, with a warmer tone.
Note:Provide ample ventilation when using flash heads that have modeling lights. Do not use a modeling light higher than 300 watts with a LiteDome or MultiDome.

Great for diffused light. A bit tricky to assemble and disassemble, but gives great light.

I use this for shooting interviews and small studio work. They are great and the light is perfect for what I do.
There is only one thing that gives me pause, that is that the scew that holds the light in place is very difficult to make tight enough.

As a filmmaker, I have enjoyed so far this softbox. However, I would like for it to be a little easier to assemble.

Great investment, excellent quality!
The downside of this product is its confusing assembly description...please have the producers issue a new one!

I'm used to the newet paul c. buff softbox. You just basically unfold, and boom, you're done, nothing need to squeeze poles inside a ring adapter or anything like that.
Now that being said, the quality seems solid and durable!
The lack of instructions is a shame though. The instructions for the setup are just for bigger softboxes or octobox.

Works very well on open face lights. Had a lowel omni kit that wasn't seeing much use but now they have new life. I had bought one for a tota light 2 yrs ago so i knew the quality would be good. First one is still in use!

I have been using this softbox light as a key light for interviews. I use it with another 300 watt tungsten light for a 2-point light setup. I appreciate how easily this softbox collapses and fits into our small bag.

When used with the Starlite, this thing really puts out a lot of light! Nice and soft light. It's a little heavy but it has to be to handle hotlights. If you're only using strobe, opt for the lighter version with the white interior.

We own 7 of this size--Easy to setup and a nice size for head and shoulder interviews. We use them all with lowel totas (750w) Puts out a lot of light. However, we seem to be on the upper edge of the wattage---a couple of our boxes have gotten slightly singed, but still usable. Be sure to have all the vents open--good product--buy the eggcrate too

I love this softbox. The installation is easy and the diffusion is warm and inviting. There are two separate inner linings for diffusion that are easy to install.

This is my first Photoflex softbox, and I will definitely be buying more in the future. It's incredibly well built. I was worried that it might be difficult to put together since I'm new to softboxes, but it took me about five minutes. The silver interior softboxes like this one produce a very crisp light. If you like a softer light, Photoflex also makes the Litedome series, which has a white interior.

I bought this soft box because it is useful for still photos and hot video lights. It's small size make it very portable. I use it with hot shoe flashes as well as Alien Bees. I'm mainly using it for an accent light, but will use it more for product and portrait photography. I am anxious to use it for video. It's easy to move around for placement and good light control. I have several other Photoflex products and all deliver quality and economy.

I bought this to use on a Lowel Pro Light. However, I didn't think the decision through all the way before buying. The Pro is a little too directional for a box this shallw (and it is a little more shallow than the alternatives out there). I went and exchanged for a Cine Dome, which is deeper and does a better job for this particular fixture.

For video interviews, this is an efficient
and budget-friendly way to soften a small spot. I
use it for my Lowell Omni lights, and it works
best with a dimmer attached. The quality of light
is enhanced all around, and it folds flat, which is
great for traveling videographers.
I highly recommend it.
