The B+W 49mm UV Slim SC 010 Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.

The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

B+W filters are constructed from high quality Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. They feature a brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention. The slim filters are specifically designed for use with wide angle lenses and are only 0.1" / 3mm thick. They do not have front threads for stacking additional filters.

Comments about B+W 49mm UV Slim SC 010 Filter:

i bought this filter initially as protection for my camera lens-but it improves the quality of any shot taken in bright sun.prior to attaching my lens, any shots in bright sun were washed out and flat. while not the ideal situation to shoot, sometimes the shot presents itself say at 1300.this lens allows more versatility for those moments and results in a more interesting shot. granted, there are other ,better, filters for bright sun-but for everyday use without carrying more equipment-this works.

Comments about B+W 49mm UV Slim SC 010 Filter:

None of my lenses is without a protective filter. I prefer the UV because of the enhancement it brings to ordinary light. However, it is important to choose a high quality filter. There is no point in spending thousands of dollar for the lens and ruin it with a cheap filter. B+W filters are high quality pieces that will do justice to your pricey lenses.
