This honeycomb grid provides a beam spread of 35° when mounted to a Speedotron 22" beauty dish reflector.

Grids are essential accessories for any lighting system. These devices alter the shape and intensity of the light output from your flash heads. Consider them as a painter would a brush, or a sculptor would a knife, or chisel.

Use of a grid will result in a small circle of light, when it is attached to the front of your light source. The size of the circle of light will be determined by the density of the honeycomb, its thickness, and the distance of the subject.

I bought this grid hoping it would fit my Hensel beauty dish . . . sure enough, it does. It's a little bit loose- just have to make sure it's lined up properly so that it doesn't slide off.

Of all of the grids I own, this is by far the best construction. It fits my Mola Demi perfectly. A great product.

Comments about Speedotron 22" Honeycomb Grid, 35 Degrees:

I really like the grid. Instead of using with a Speedotron light, I use it with an Alien Bee beauty dish. It fits perfectly and works well. I love the light that a BD provides and by using the grid I can control spill.

                Two thumbs up!

Comments about Speedotron 22" Honeycomb Grid, 35 Degrees:

i had read someplace (model mayhem most likely) that stephen eastwood recommends grids for everything, and that this grid would fit my alien bees beauty dish. as usual, he was right on both accounts. the grid makes a world of difference, and of course it snaped right on, no modifications needed.

i remcommend this to anyone with a beauty dish 1) because it works very well and improves the image, and 2) it made all my photo buddies jealous.

This is an excellent light grid for use on a 22" beauty dish. Easy to use and direct light as desired. Could use a more positive locking mechanism, but overall works acceptably well.

Comments about Speedotron 22" Honeycomb Grid, 35 Degrees:

I initially purchased this grid based on suggestion of Stephen Eastwood in his beauty dish tutorials. He recommened the Speedtron and suggested that it would fit an Alien Bee 22" Beauty Dish with some mods to the spring clips. Contrary to Mr. Eastwoods suggestion...this is a direct snap on fit with the 22" Alien Bees beauty dish. Fit and finish is top notch. It even comes in a handy lil corrugated plastic carrying case. All in all I am very happy with the purchase and can't steer anyone away from it.
