I own a Sony HD-FX1, and while it has manual audio input, it only comes with a 1/8" jack. This cable has served as a very simple solution to a potentially complex issue. In order to capture professional audio, XLR inputs are necessary. Instead of toting around a portable mixer, or buying an attachment for the camera with its own manual audio levels, I bought this cable, which has done the trick.

Being an independent producer doesn't allow me to go out and buy another $5000 camera. This cable allows me to use either my wireless Sennheiser lav with 1/8 in. cable OR my boom mic with XLR cable for filming.Well worth the price[...]

Just what I needed. Worked well with my Canon 60D, and it was just the right length.

Comments about Comprehensive EXF Stereo Mini Male to XLR Female Cable - 1.5':
Had to quickly/cheaply throw together a "run-n-gun" rig for a documentary type shoot. Didn't have the money for an XLR interface so we went with one of these. Did it's job perfectly, allowed us to run an on camera shotgun mic to the 1/8" input on the camera (Canon HV30). Audio was great and completely controllable with the cameras built in functions. Wish they had one though that was just a couple inches longer. When mounting the mic on the accessory arm it was just barely long enough to reach and I was worried it would tweak the input if the cable ever got snagged or pulled funny. All in all a great product.

I thought the 1' cable would be a little too short and was right so I'm glad I went with this longer 1.5' cable.
The cable is a little stiff but the connections on it lock nice and tight and it now allows me to use XLR mics on my Canon Vixia HFS100 to bring out the best sound quality.

I needed this cable as a connection between my Telex wireless mic receiver's 3.5mm (mini) output and the XLR inputs on my video cameras. Being only 1.5 feet long, it eliminates unnecessary rolled or dangling cable. Real pro product with real pro results.
When you toss in the lifetime warranty, how can you go wrong? I'm pleased!
