This is a long-running, quick charging battery that is cheap (to buy). It doesn't have the upright look of the picture, however; it looks like the Bescor batteries that I bought in the '90s...which is fine by me. It's the standard lead acid type cell that is common to battery-backups on fire alarm systems. Why does this matter? Because you can replace it cheap. I found them for $25 at a local battery outlet. So when it tanks, you just recycle this one and stick in a new one. Bud-a-bing, bud-a-bang -- you're back in business. The auto-off charger is a must...you don't want to overcharge this baby or it'll screw you down the line. Thanks for reading!

Battery, good, but heavy
This battery seams to provide enough power, but pretty heavy.

I use this mainly to power an external video monitor/teleprompter. For this purpose, it works well. No luck powering lighting of any significance but didn't really expect that from around 7 amps. Works great for small to medium electronics.

This is the only way to go when I need my cam light (50 watts) in a hurry or at the bride's house. It's got the juice and the light weight.

Comments about Bescor MM-7NC Starved Electrolyte Battery:
I purchased this battery as part of the $94.99 Bescor light kit. It works great and definitely gets the job done. On a full charge using a 50 watt light, it last about 2 hours (continuous), but I only us it for specific shots during event filming. My only complaint is I cannot tell when the battery is actually charging. There are no indicator lights or LED to let you know it's charging. I plug it in 24 hours before a shoot and never have a problem.

I used this for a wedding and it was enough for the whole night. The strap was a problem and if you use it you''ll get a screwed up back. Having it on a belt is suggested.

This is a very good little battery I use for powering my camera-mounted light. When fully charged it provides power throughout the entire wedding reception.
You can sling it over your shoulder or hook it on your belt.
