Used to use the ones that hang on the shoulder, which are terrible and hurt, this allows me to move much more freely. And doesn't feel as heavy.

Comments about Bescor PRB-12XLRNC Starved Electrolyte (Lead Acid) Battery Belt (12v, 12 amp hours) Cigarette and 4-Pin XLR Connectors, without Charger:
As can be expected with a lead acid battery, weight is higher than with other types, however I believe the performance overwhelmingly outweighs the drawbacks. This battery pack easily powers my camera for around 4 hours, and is significantly less expensive than some other brands. Charging does take a while, but as above, is a small price to pay.

It's heavy, it's true, but Ive make a test with a 50w sun gun and endured a period of 4 hours without turning off the lamp any time.

Overall good battery. Keeps charge. Lighter than many comparable products. The main inconvenience is that there's no light indicating that the battery is charging. Also, the lighter connection can come loose if you do a lot of movement.

The battery pack is fine....those purchasing this should also consider a meter to learn how well the charge is on the batteries.

Thank God I bought a belt-style battery - this thing weighs a ton! I needed a battery that would last an hour or two on location, and this fits the bill. I was strongly advised to buy a belt pack, and am very glad I did.
I haven't used it much yet, but it's quick and easy to use, and works fine. I wish there was some kind of indicator to show when the battery is recharged - you have to time it which is irritating. Otherwise, so far a good product.
