This hot shoe adapter enables a camera without a PC sync socket to sync with a flash without a hot shoe, or to other equipment that has a PC sync connection.
Top shoe is not "hot", and flash mounted onto the adapter has to be connected via a PC cord.

In order for hot pin to make contact with my hot shoe on my digital rebel, I had to disassemble the adapter and file away some plastic. This allowed the pin to protrude far enough to make positive contact. Canon rebel users may want to make another choice. Once altered, the adapter works wonderfully.

Excellent product. Used on my Canon AV-1 camera that does not have a pc terminal. This adapter sits right on the camera hot shoe and allows me to connect my photography lights!

Comments about General Brand Hot Shoe to PC Adapter:
I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this product that stated issues but i had no issues whatsoever. I have a Canon digital rebel XT and it worked just fine. I didn't have to file down the plastic as others indicated in their reviews.

I own three of these, each one fitted to a Canon S5 IS inside of a photobooth. They all perform as they should without any problems.

Comments about General Brand Hot Shoe to PC Adapter:
Most digital SLRs do not have a pc connector and since I have a need to fire a proffesional Strobe, and not slave it, this is what I chose to do the job.

There's nothing fancy about this, it's simply something to throw on for a PC hot shoe adapter. It's minimalistic and easy to use.

Comments about General Brand Hot Shoe to PC Adapter:
So I have this Canon EOS xti that I wanted to test out with my strobes, but it didn't have a pc connection. I bought this thinking that this was just what I needed. Which it was, however when I got it the metal contacts wounldn't make contact with the camera hotshoe. I had to take it apart and sand off a little bit of the plastic underneath and put it back together and it works like a beauty. I love how light my xti. Thanks to this little attachment I can use it with my strobes. Would have been nice if it would have worked just outta the box. Thanks for the tip from other reviewers!

I ordered 4 of these and only 1 actually worked. And the one that works, you have to place the pc connector away from the lens to work. And it was extremely difficult to put on and take off the adapter from the camera

Comments about General Brand Hot Shoe to PC Adapter:
I bought this hotshoe to pc adapter to connect my Vivitar 285HV flash to my pentax k100d. It worked, but was quite flimsy, and had me worried from the start. Then, while setting my camera up on a tripod, I forgot to tighten the up/down pan head, and the camera went swinging forward. When it hit the bottom of the swivel, the adapter connecting the flash to the camera shattered, and my flash fell to the ground. I was forced to shoot with the on-camera flash for the rest of the trip.
Were it not required for the use of my flash, I would not buy it again.

Comments about General Brand Hot Shoe to PC Adapter:
This product did not work on my new K2000. I tried it before I found out about trigger voltages being too high with an old flash, but I can't see that making a difference.
I verified that the flash fired, first by using it directly on the camera's hot shoe, then by firing it with the "Test" button. The flash fired both times.
Then I installed the adapter, which was very difficult to do. I connected the PC cord to the flash, and it didn't fire. Ever. I must have tried a half-dozen times.
I then bought a Wein SafeSynch, and the flash fires every time, whether being used on-camera (on the top of the SafeSync) or off, by PC cord.
Save your money and get a SafeSync instead.

I was looking for a solution to using a wide angle lens on my Leica M8 without sacrificing a hot shoe for an external finder. The finder is a little higher than it should be, but after a few test frames, I'm all lined up!
