As a Field Location Audio Soundman, I finally needed to purchase an additional MSE Hollywood Grip Head after adding a second boom pole to my audio kit. Most of my interviews on video shoots I'm able to lock down the boom pole for the duration of the interview while I monitor and mix the sound. I already have plans for adding a third boom pole in the near future, which also means adding a third MSE Hollywood Head as well. These heads are built to last. The quality and durability are so good I wouldn't even consider buying another brand. Add a K-Tek Boom Cradle and you've got the next best thing to a professional boom op. I mount these on heavy duty ARRI light stands with a boom cradle and one or two MSE BOA shot bags, and either a K-Tek or Loon Penta boom pole, and I'm good to go.

some heads ive worked with also have a 1/4 inch hole. this one does not. it has the standard 2 and 1/2 inch.

This is a necessary item when using it with a lamp pole and boom holder. It works good, and is made of sturdy material, so I suspect it will last a long time. The only thing I found a bit annoying was angle setting. It was clumsy to adjust, but with time I will get the hang of it I am sure.
