I love the idea of leaving the adapter rings on all mylenses, so I ordered rings and these caps for every lens. Leaving the ring on the lens makes switching lenses andusing my Cokin system much faster and more convenient. These caps are not exactly what I expected. The A seriescap slips over the ring from the front and held on mostly byfriction, while these have a lip around half of the back, which engages the ring in a manor similar to the holderitself, and the cap is held in place by a small tab on theopen side, under the thumb tab.The cap is not quite as easy to put on as I would havethought, it is easy to get the lip misaligned and miss thering altogether. But once on it stays on well and comes offeasily when you put your thumb under the tab, but they don'tseam to fall off on their own.Because of the way the 82mm adapter ring is made, this capdoesn't quite fit because the lip is too thick, a quickround with some sandpaper fixed this problem.Keep in mind that if you plan to leave the adapter ring andthis cap on a smaller lens, the lens no longer fits in thebag the same way.
Expertise: Semi-Pro Nature Photographer
Problems Encountered: The lip is too thick to fit the 82mm adapter ring.

It can catch it's edge on things when putting your camera in or pulling it out of your bag. It can pop off when pulling out of your bag if it's a snug fit. It happened several times with my D300 and Lowepro Sling shot. These can be useful if you use P-type filters a lot. Saves the time of screwing on adapters. Sliding it over the ring works best if you slide it from the bottom towards the top. Sliding from the side or top can be difficult to get the slots to line up properly.

Comments about Cokin Adapter Cap "P" (#P253) fits over "P" Series Adapter Rings:
I use a Cokin P adapter with a selection of Singh-Ray filters. This lens cap is very useful when I have a Cokin lens adapter mounted and want to protect the lens momentarily. You do have to remove the P adapter itself to use the cap.

Tis cap fits over any of my Cokin P series adaptor rings and allows me to leave all my adaptor rings attached which reduces set-up time when I am using my Cokin filter system. It works great and provides great protection for my lenses.

Comments about Cokin Adapter Cap "P" (#P253) fits over "P" Series Adapter Rings:
Didn't think that this would be of any use but for less than $8, why not have it along just in case. Turns out to be very useful when you are taking the camera in and out of a car frequently; don't have to take everything off of the lens in order to put the camera down without getting dust on the lens. This cap works great in place of the standard lense cap; keeps the dust out very well.

Comments about Cokin Adapter Cap "P" (#P253) fits over "P" Series Adapter Rings:
Works well on my 77mm lenses as a cap for when I want to leave the p-series adapter ring in place. Although it doesn't effect it's functionality the cap does increase the overall diameter of the lens by a lot, making it a bit of problem to fit in a neoprene cover I have for hiking, mostly just an inconvenience.

Comments about Cokin Adapter Cap "P" (#P253) fits over "P" Series Adapter Rings:
This is definitely not as solid or cool as a branded lens cap, but for me it comes down to ease of use. I won't use filters if it's not simple and easy, I don't want to be constantly un- and rethreading filters and holders. This protects the lens so I don't have to take off the holder. Booyah!

This is very useful for sliding onto your Cokin "P" adapter rings, which allows you to leave your rings on the lenses all the time. I have 4 of these caps and they're much better and easier to use than the snap on caps that usually come with lenses.
