The 4 leaf barndoor set mounts directly onto the Profoto Zoom Reflector. It features springs for mounting filters and/or honeycomb grids. It blocks undesired light from the subject or the camera lens, and shapes the light output ofthe flash head, when used without the grids.
Barndoors, Snoots, Grids, and Filters are essential accessories for any lighting system. These devices alter the shape, intensity, or color of the light output from your flash heads. Consider them as a painter would a brush, or a sculptor would a knife, or chisel.
Use of a barndoor set will result in a shaft of light, when it is attached to the front of the reflector of your light source. The size of the shaft of light will be determined by the opening of the leaves, and the distance of the light from the subject. Rotating the barndoor set will determine the angle of the shaft of light. A 4-leaf barndoor provides more light control than a 2-leaf barndoor set.

Comments about 4 Leaf Barndoor Set with Grid Holder for Profoto Zoom Reflector:
These barn doors quickly became bent out of shape with minimal use. They also spin of their own free will when attached to a reflector, so they have to be gaffered to stop them moving. I have some broncolor barn doors from the 80's that I use of some bron heads, and they are indestructible. Barn doors are an important light modifier, but you wouldn't know it from this Profoto product.

Comments about 4 Leaf Barndoor Set with Grid Holder for Profoto Zoom Reflector:
These are really effective, and regardless of the other comments these are well built and solid - and at the same time light and flimsy feeling. But I have used them on every shoot for the past few years, and they work as well as the day I bought them. The price, like all profoto accessories is ridiculous though. These should cost $50 not [$]. Having said that, I don't regret buying them.

Great addition to the kit. Now enables greater ability to craft and refine the light source. Had heard comments about it's build quality but found this to be hype, the barn doors work beautifully. I will be buying more of these.

To control the light from all sides, light weight. Its kinda flimsy, for the price I thought it would have been more solid.

Comments about 4 Leaf Barndoor Set with Grid Holder for Profoto Zoom Reflector:
I use the barndoor to block some light for my still life set up. Functionality its ok, but the build quality is like china made item. It does not says the profoto quality at all. For the price I paid for this item, I expect much more that this. I am not sure how long this thing will last. My Hensel barndoor is much better build than this. I can see one of the rod that holds the leaf will snap after extensive use.
