I have several different size Cokin Adapter Rings and this one like the others works great. I actually use this one on an adaptor for a high end point and shoot camera I own.

The adapter ring fits on the Cokin filter holder and then screws onto the camera lens. I use a graduated neutral density (gnd) filter with this holder. Once the filter holder is attached, you can slide the gnd up and down to darken the sky for sunsets, sunrise shots. Good, straight-forward product.
