Shooting with filters is lots of fun but it can also be very expensive depending on your filter system that you buy. I recently moved into the Cokin system and love it. You only need one holder and then you purchase these rings for the size of your lenses. This way you swap your filters and you don't have to spend an arm and a leg for them. I used this adapter ring this week on doing sunrise pictures and it was fantastic. For me this is a must have item and I didn't have to take out a loan.

Just got this adapter ring to go with filter holder. First out of the bag I dropped it on pavement and put a nick in the ring and threads. It didn't affect the fit or threading on my lens. Much better made than expected when I dropped it. This goes along with entire Cokin system.

The P series filter system by Cokin is just wonderful. I got a medium format Bronica and was somewhat worried about updating my P filter kit from 35mm. I was surprised to find out that all I needed was a new 62mm adapter ring; total cost of adapting all my filters from one camera to another: a few bucks. Now I have what I need for all my lenses: from my 24mm wide angle lens for 35mm, to a normal lens for my medium format Bronica. At a time when camera manufacturers seem to spend most of their time making their products incompatible with other manufacturers', the Cokin filter kits remind me why I love the "old stuff" (although, of course, you will be equally happy if you own a digital SLR).
