I bought this monopod about 12 years ago and it still looks nearly new. I use it with a Manfrotto compact ballhead and a Manfrotto quick-release plate.
Fully extended, it is tall enough for me, at 6'-2", to look through the viewfinder of my old Oly OM2s and my new E-620 without stooping.
I also use it as a walking stick while hiking the woods.
My only quibble is that the grip pad tends to slip down slowly from teh downward pressue while walking, and its very difficult to push back up. Also, teh wrist strap could be just a little bigger.
Overall, this is a terrific value if you're going to use ballheads and QRPs that cost a lot more.

This is a very solid, stable and light monopod, and the price is almost unbelievably low! The locking levers are very good and the sections slide open and closed effortlessly. It's also full height, which is a must for my 6'2" height. Add a good ball head and you've gained two stops of exposure! A super addition to any travel kit and you can often use monopods in locations (churches, etc.) where light is poor and tripods forbidden. I just wish it folded down just a little smaller, but at this price, who can complain?

I use the UP-4000 Unipod for my point&shoot camera and a light Digital Camcorder. It is great for getting close up's in crowded auditoriums with out camera shake. It however is too light for any type of heavy duty camera equipment.

This filled the bill for a solid, lightweight, easy to exttend and close portable monopod...and a brand new one was less expensive than most used monopods on display.

Although this is a discontinued product, it works well for the purpose. Sturdy and light weight. Ten dollars cheaper than the newer model.
