Immanently at the ready
The tiny size of this support makes it effortless to always have with you. It adequately supports a Canon G10, which is on the hefty side for this type of camera.

The ball head is very rudimentary, and one needs to be especially careful about balancing the legs when using the camera vertically. The big plus here is, with some attention, getting the shot that would otherwise have evaporated.

Comments about Giottos 5-Section Mini Ball-Pod Tripod (Titanium) with Case:
I thought I would be getting a light and serviceable tripod to carry for travel and hiking, but i feel I got much more. Not only do the five-section legs make it very easy to set up on uneven surfaces, but it felt very secure and the ball mount easily held the weight of my camera, a Canon ELPH 500 HS. It appears to be well made and I feel it could handle a much larger camera.
The bonus has been when using the mini-tripod as a grip for handheld shots. I love the idea of being able to carry a camera around in my pocket, but most that are small enough are just too "fiddly" for me. I gave the ELPH 500 a try because the touch screen icons are large enough to my liking. (BTW, I've found the touch features, quite responsive). Still, on a cold morning or a crowded street, the grip is problematic. Holding the camera with the attached tripod solved all of that and with less extension of the arms, seems less conspicuous, enables better shot angles, quicker shooting, etc. Attached, it folds up and still fits in my pants pocket.
In the other pocket I carry a backup battery and an extra SD card in the little case that comes with the Mini Pod.
There is a lot to like.

Solid and well built. Can fall forward if head is panned forward. Legs extend but would benefit from incremental stops.

I bought this to use in the cabin on a cruise ship.
Misplaced it before the event and repurchased when we got home. Workmanship is very nice.
I have used this a limited number of times for close up of small items and it is very easy to set up and does the job.

Comments about Giottos 5-Section Mini Ball-Pod Tripod (Titanium) with Case:
I was looking for a lightweight tabletop tripod to hold my G-12. I already own 8 of them and none of those met my needs. My requirements were light weight as I was going on a 130 mile trek, sturdiness, and easy accurate camera adjustment. The legs on this tripod are very sturdy, the weight is just ounces, and the ball lets me to accurately zero in on a subject to take a level picture. I couldn't do that with spindly legged tripods or tripods without user friendly adjustment balls.

This tripod is very compact (fits in the small outer pocket on my point-n-shoot case, yet expands to give you lots of flexibility. The legs adjust individually, so you can deal with uneven surfaces. And the long legs allow you to rotate the camera vertically, without tipping over.

Great for carrying around when one is walking a lot especially. Nothing worst than extra weight of tripods to slow down one's walking pace when already tired.
The case is handy as well. Neat and pretty cool gadget.

Comments about Giottos 5-Section Mini Ball-Pod Tripod (Titanium) with Case:
I've used this for about 5 years and it's held up better than some of my actual professional equipment. After that point it started fall apart but seriously - for[$] you're going to complain? The 5 sections let you span varied terrain and the plastic ball head does a good job of maintaining friction. If you're serious with a point and shoot this is the one out of all the little tripods - even more than the Bogen despite how much better made it is. Simple and effective.
