I use this film for wedding ceremonies in churches and other low light conditions during the wedding day. It allows me to use available light most of the time (I hate flash). Although its latitude for exposure is smaller than other films, it has a wonderful soft quality about it that other films of its type do not have. Backlit objects take on an almost ethereal glow. I have found that some scanners have difficulties with keeping detail in areas that are surrounded by lighter areas (even though there is plenty of detail in that area).

I'm currently shooting 10-20 rolls rated at 1600-3200 ISO per week now, and of the various options in that range, Delta 3200 is my least favorite. The grain is muddy, the images seem flat, and so on. It's not a disaster, and I will certainly shoot Delta 3200 when I have to, but I much prefer P3200 for shooting at 3200, and TMAX 400 for shooting at 1600; Neopan 1600 works fine at either speed, and is cheap. R3 looks *cool* at 1600 in RHS. Maybe I need to try some other developers (Rodinal?) but Delta 3200 just isn't my thing. However, it does come in 120, which is handy if you can't get or don't like R3.

I used this film at a bowling alley at night and i loved the graininess of the photos. There was more so than other brands I've used in the past. So if you like that kinda look like i do this would be a good film for you.

Comments about Ilford Delta-3200 Professional 135-36 Black & White Print Negative (Print) Film (ISO-3200 Push Process):

The graininess, the contrast, and the low-light capability of this film make it really superb for vintage-looking portraits. My only gripe is that setting the camera to 3200 ISO produces slightly underexposed pictures. Next time, I will set the camera's light meter to 1600 ISO because I think that will expose the film correctly.

I have always enjoyed using this film, it is very consistent in it's qualities as well as nicely sensitive in low light. Recently I was very hapily surprised when I made prints 40" wide from negatives shot on this film. The information across the wide tonal range held up extremely well. I will keep using this film as long as I am shooting.

This is the perfect film for available light photography, or where flash would be cumbersome or prohibitive. Very decent grain for such a fast film, and at 1600ASA it really pops. Nice contrast, pleasing mid-tones.

I always pull my 3200 speed film down to 1600 and I get great results. I find at 3200 the negz are too thin. This film can be used in the worst light and still get awesome results.

This film is amazing! It can be exposed at a variety of speeds depending on how it's pushed. So far I've exposed/developed for 1600 and 3200 ISO. The results were best at 3200 but very good at 1600. I developed the film using Agfa R09 Oneshot/Rodinal, which is not the recommended developer. In spite of this the results were fantastic. Smooth tones, incredible dynamic range/latitude and the grain is beautiful. It's a treat to look at images shot on this film; even technically poor photos look good.

This is a bit obvious : it is incredibly sensitive to RF radiation; I accidentally took the film through an X-Ray scanner and it increased the grain considerably.

I use Delta 3200 for it grain, not for it low light performance. I usually shoot with it in a studio under good lighting. Then I develop it in paper developer to make the grain pop even more.

Let's face it, if you're playing around with this film, you're doing something weird. And weird is what you get. Try shooting with a dark red filter.

I've shot several rolls of Delta 3200 and I'm always pleased by the results. Lovely ethereal shots with just enough detail and grain to give a wholly artistic look to the images without doing a shred of photoshop manipulation.

I like Tmax 3200 as well but IMO, Delta 3200 edges out Kodak's by a hair, even though I continue to shoot both.

Awesome film in low light and night time. I pop a CP filter on when I happen to be outside in brighter conditions with fabulous results as well.

I scan high resolution for best results.

I knew that I need a faster speed film for the type of night work that I am doing. I have used t-max in the past and always thought that it did the trick, but I prefer this film. It produces much richer tonal range with very rich detail.
