In reply to the two negative reviews, this is not designed to protect your expensive filters. This is designed to protect the even more expensive to replace front element of your lens. When you are not using filters in your Cokin P holder, leave the holder on the lens and slide this in to protect your lens. It's that simple, and it does the job. It's not always convenient to take the Cokin P holder off in between shots.
Note that some Nikon Lens caps will fit in the circle of the Cokin P hoder, and this offers some protection. However, the lens cap does not snap in place. It can come off if bumped too hard.
This Cokin Lens Cap solves that problem at a good price.

Sliding the lens cap into Cokin's filter holder slots is fiddly but this is because of Cokin's design rather than the lens cap itself. Don't try it in poor light!

Comments about Cokin "P" Series Lens Cap (Fits in Holder):
This goes in the holder closest to the lens to keep out stuff. It fits tightly--almost too tightly. Will use so I can keep the holder on more and do less putting on and taking off. You could also use it in front of a filter to protect it from scratches between shots. Just got this. Will know more after using a while.

Very easy to use. Stays in place and doesn't pop off in my bag.

Comments about Cokin "P" Series Lens Cap (Fits in Holder):
The Cokin resin filters will scratch easily so you need to have this cap in place when you are not shooting. It does not fit closely enough, however, to keep dust off your filter.

A lens cap that you slide into the cokin P-series filter holder. Pretty simple.

Comments about Cokin "P" Series Lens Cap (Fits in Holder):
The visible tab prevents the cap from being inserted all the way down into a wide angle, 1-slot holder BPW400. Works with standard 3-slot holder CBP400A though.

standard filter accessory, works just fine if it's something you need. Maybe unnecessary, but I wanted one anyway.

Comments about Cokin "P" Series Lens Cap (Fits in Holder):
Its kind of annoying to take of the cokin holder during photoshoots and I'm ocd about keeping the cap on, so its a great solution. Only note was that it was hard to get on when I first used it.

Comments about Cokin "P" Series Lens Cap (Fits in Holder):
Works well and makes it nice and easy to leave the filter holder in place. Although the fit is good it would be nice if it was a little more weather tight, if it is a dusty environment dust will get to the lens, however this cap will effectively protect the lens from major damage.

This lens cap easily slides into the slot when you take out the filter. Perfect for when you are moving from one place to another and don't want to take the filter holder off your camera.

Comments about Cokin "P" Series Lens Cap (Fits in Holder):
This lens cap covers the part of the square/rectangular filter that fits in the Cokin "P" sized holder. It fits perfectly fine and covers that portion of the filter that is inside the filter. Due to its size, however, it does not totally cover the whole neutral density gradients filters, leaving a good portion of the filter exposed to dust/dirt/water/elements.That is why I did not give it five stars. I will use it some, but probably not for extended periods of time as I change filters and try to keep them out of the elements as much as possible.[...]

Comments about Cokin "P" Series Lens Cap (Fits in Holder):
If you're going to use the P series filters from Cokin, you want one of these. It makes carrying the camera a lot easier, as you don't have to put the filters away each time you stow your camera for a few seconds. If you're hiking/scrambling and have to keep swapping out the filters during the hike, you'll stop using them. If you have the cap, it allows you to stow the camera with filters attached. It's a small thing, but I didn't bother with it for a year. Huge mistake on my part.

If you don't want to have to take off your Cokin filter ring every time you put the camera away into the bag, this is for you! Protects your lens' front element while your Cokin filter holder is attached.

A filter cap that only covers half the filter? This does not provide adequate protection for the filter. Dust gets on the filter and you have to clean more than you need to.
