Cokin P152 Neutral Gray ND2 - 2x/1-Stop Neutral Density Filter - Often it is necessary or desirable to control the light intensity within a given frame. This is especially true in situations where you don't have total light control, as in bright contrasty landscapes. Exposing for the foreground will produce a washed-out, over-exposed sky while exposing for the sky will leave the foreground dark and under-exposed. A neutral density filter will allow you to retain exposure control but will not affect the color of the image.
Neutral Density filters allow you to shoot under conditions that would normally be impossible to shoot under - particularly outside in snow, beach or extreme bright light scenarios. For the landscape photographer, irrespective of the format you use (film, digital, video or cine), this filter is almost a necessity because it permits you to maintain creative control over a tough lighting venue while still maintaining proper exposure.
For those who like moody, soft creative looks to their images, this filter can produce blurred movement when used with waterfalls, fast moving objects (cars, etc) and even nature subjects such as birds in flight or running animals. There are people who even use them on their iPhone to capture interesting images when a traditional camera isn't handy.
Cokin makes the 150 series of Neutral Density filters (152, 153 and 154). The three filters represent a 1, 2 and 3 stop range (respectively). Speaking generally, a ND.6 (2-stop) filter will generally produce the most pleasing results and is also the most popular density of the series.
Note! This filter requires the Cokin P series holder and an adapter ring (both sold separately). The "P" series is recommended for focal lengths of 28mm upwards

Comments about Cokin P152 Neutral Gray ND2 - 2x/1-Stop Neutral Density Filter:
This is the only way to get shallow depth of field when working in confined spaces with studio strobes - when you're shooting as fast as your sync will let you and your ISO is as low as it'll go.
Also great for middle of the day shooting when you want to get motion in moving water shots and there's too much light.
As far as I can tell any image deterioration is negligible and certainly better than not getting the shot or spending time fixing it in post.

Comments about Cokin P152 Neutral Gray ND2 - 2x/1-Stop Neutral Density Filter:
I've only used this filter in the studio when I want to lower the overall brightness without changing the aperture setting. When using the filter it does change the color very slightly, but if you do a custom white balance there should be no problem.

Comments about Cokin P152 Neutral Gray ND2 - 2x/1-Stop Neutral Density Filter:
A series of these filters are recommended for shooting waterfalls and streams. You need a shutter speed between .3 and .6 seconds for good "silky" water images. The ND filters allow you to add the ND to your exposure in daylight to allow slow shutter speeds at ISO 100 and ISO 50 (with f/22 or f/16).

I use this filter to highlight the sky landscapes mostly. Also for purposes of water in rivers, waterfalls, etc. The Cokin system is versatile, reliable and comfortable to use. I do not find stick. It has excellent value for money
