Velbon QB-4LC Quick Release Plate - Long
The Velbon QB-4LC Quick Release Plate fits the Videomate-400, CX-430, CX-440, DF-10ML, DF-40, T-3500, and V5000 tripods, and features a 1/4"-20 camera screw with a video pin.
A quick release plate can be kept attached to the camera's base and allows the user to quickly and easily attach or remove the camera from the tripod without having to waste time fumbling with the threaded mount.

I have 2 tripods that use this plate, and my family started wanting to use them. I had to get extra plates in self defense so that they would not swipe the one off of my camera. Now everyone has one of their own and everyone is happy. Excellent product at a reasonable price.

Second try gets right parts

I use this quick release product with my Nikon and Velbon tripod, works great. Easy to attach to the camera, then slips right into the tripod adapter. Only suggestion I would have would be to make the head of the camera screw larger for easy operation with clumsy fingers.

I had been looking all over for a a Quick Release Platform for my Tripod. It's the second time I "lost" it... or rather a relative borrowed the tripod and returned it without the part. The first one was replaced by a friend whose tripod broke and didn't need the platform. When I "lost" it the second time I almost tossed the tripod. But instead I took some time to find the part. B&H had them at a very reasonable price [...]. I bought two in case a pesky relative borrows my tripod again.

I lost the quick release plate from a cheap tripod that had been purchased at a large discount retailer. I was uncertain whether I would be able to find a replacement at a reasonable price (i.e., less than the original cost of the tripod), however, the B&H staff was extremely helpful in finding the right piece. I've been using this piece for a month, and fits exactly what I need, no complaints.
