Velbon QB-5RL Quick Release Platform
The Velbon QB-5RL Quick Release Plate features a rubberized surface with a 1/4"-20 camera screw and video pin.
A quick release plate can be kept attached to the camera's base and allows the user to quickly and easily attach or remove the camera from the tripod without having to waste time fumbling with the threaded mount.

Although pictured and described with a rubberized surface, mine came with a cork surface - which is just fine. This feels like a solid product and fits well into the tripod. I'm happy there is replacement platform available for the tripod my wife got at an auction. I expect many good years of use from this product.
