Velbon QB-6RL Quick Release Plate with Video Pin (Long) for the DV-7000, CX-686 Tripod and PH-368 Head
The Velbon QB-6RL Quick Release Plate fits the PX-781FN, D-600, 700, DV-7000, Videomate III, IV, 607, CX-686, 687, V2000 tripods and the PH-368 pan/tilt head. It features a long platform with a 1/4"-20 threaded camera screw and video pin.
A quick release plate can be kept attached to the camera's base. This allows you to attach or remove the camera from the tripod quickly and easily without having to waste time fumbling with the threaded mount.

Sometimes it is difficult to locate the most common photo parts. At a recent shoot my assistant lost the quick release for my VelbonTripod but I knew I could count on B&H to have the exact part I needed, in fact they had the newer version of the Velbon Quick Release which works better than the one I had. Lost my plate for my tripod and needed replacements for video and DSLR. While the plate is exactly as specified I was disappointed that the plate extends beyond the back of my Canon DSLR. That's not a fault of Velbon, but just be aware of that possibility. Works great on my Sony Camcorder which has a longer body. Again connect is great and fits well in tripod.

Purchased this plate to replace a damaged plate on the SONY VCT-870RM tripod. The serial number is the same on the new plate except that the cork on top is thinner and the screw on the bottom does not have a little handle that flips up so you can tighten as necessary without the need for a coin, which was particularly useful on original plate. It would have been useful to see a picture of the underside of the plate.

This cork-topped release plate for my Velbon 607 tripod is superior by far to the standard issue plastic plates. The cork is more quiet to use in practice, grips the underside of the camera much better and has a much more refined feel to it than all-plastic standard issue.I should note, too, that B&H Photo has the distinction of being one of the very few vendors who carrys this superior product. [@] does not offer it, nor do most other vendors. I have been very pleased with the results in using it, and very pleased the B&H photo can be relied upon to provide such quality photographic products that other vendors simply do not bother to find, investigate and then offer for the benefit of their customers. This is the kind of thing that creates confidence in a company like B&H, and we are all the better served by their distinguished presence in the market of photographic supplies.

I got a tripod from a friend, didnt have the plate. Looked up the pan head model number, managed to get this, ordered one after seeing B&H had the best price and free shipping. Once I got it in the mail, I was a little suprised that it was plastic, though I dont mind. If it was metal, it would just be even better.
